I’m surprisingly philosophical about it — our workrate was good but we did not play well enough to win and arguably Alisson was the reason we didn’t lose.
Given how much they ruined my first six years as a Liverpool fan, I’ll always take the opportunity to laugh at United.
We got done by refs in every season we lost the title to Man City, there’s no question about it, but I try to focus on things we could actually influence - like Gravenberch and Nunez missing virtually open goals against Brighton and Luton respectively or not managing to beat literally the worst Man United team that has walked Premier League. That said, with our team not clicking lately, to put it politely, even those six points might not be enough to win the title in the end…
Hmm. 10am (3 pm UK) slate leaves me uncertain as to choice. Spurs-Everton looks like it might be the best watch, but I always feel dirty when I watch that kind of game, somewhat disliking both clubs. But these presents won’t wrap themselves.
Funny that you’ve mentioned it, I don’t think I’ve watched a PL fixture less times than Everton - Tottenham. I can only remember watching the game where Son injured Gomes. That said, I used to watch Everton against Man United and Arsenal quite often but only when they were the hosts and when I expected them to actually do something (and I added Man City to that list a few years back). Yeah, I’ve never been the brightest tool in the box.
