Heā€™s just used to them bending over.

Yup. And theyā€™re not anymore. So for him, his side is struggling with lower sides.

Very good post. I think Jan will be a bit of a struggle for us with the cup games and being without Mo/Endo. Hopefully Mac Allister coming back along with Bajcetic and possibly Thiago will help us there. Feel like we might need to dip into the market for a LB for cover, but aside from that I feel pretty good about the side overall.

Feb we should pick up steam as players come back from injury/International tournaments.

It is imperative that we keep Jota and Nunez healthy/fit. Both do so much for our offense. I know Nunez gets plenty of stick around here, and some of it is deserved, but his tenacity, pace, and power are all essential for helping open things up for the rest of the attack. I feel like Diaz will come back to form soon, and I like Gakpo as a change-up option.

Be under no illusions though, City are well capable of going on a run of 10 or more wins on the bounce. I think Iā€™ve said it before, but if weā€™re still at or near the top come March, Iā€™ll feel very good about our chances. We tend to finish the season very strong. Would love to see us pick up a couple more cups this season, too.

6 draws today (or home wins as you canā€™t have everythingā€¦) would be great!

Chavs 2 up against Luton.

Luton have played well but been caught with two goals against the run of play.

Unfortunately for Luton they just donā€™t have many goals in them.

Donā€™t think Iā€™ve got hope for any of the fixtures today maybe Wolves and Iā€™m not that bothered about that.

Why would you want City to win?

Yeah tough to see any surprises today - Forest potentially could get something off Man Utd but thatā€™s about it. Expect Villa and City to win comfortably.

If only that one day extra rest would be enough for Sheffield to get something. They are going to get thrashed.

Up the Forest.

The only upset I can see today is Utd beating Forest.

What a weird view that is.

So Sterling was this sort of creative genius, but then ā€œonlyā€ became a robotic winger from 10ish goals to 20-30+ for a few seasons?

Itā€™s completely the opposite what heā€™s trying to do with Doku. Maybe you donā€™t get a lot of managers these days that have the knowledge and courage to actually get a Jeremy Doku from Rennes and give him the freedom to play how he wants, without leaving gaps in the balance of the team? Taking him to the next level(s)?

Just recently he spoke how itā€™s difficult to find such skilfull players in wide areas. Gave credit to Txiki and the board for pressing with Jeremy, just like our team pressed Klopp with Salah (different player, but similar case where a manager publicly praised the analytics team).

He wants to embrace all the natural things Doku does, but obviously with time and moving from a Rennes to a City, you hope he raises his numbers as well. Plus other weaker areas. Where better for Doku to do what Doku adores than at City. If he wants to showboat like Quaresma, then whatā€™s good about that? That obviously doesnā€™t bring you and keep you at the top level.

And if constantly getting to the line and cutting it back is something bad or boring then I donā€™t know whatā€™s good or amusing. Check on your stronger foot and cross? Pass it back? Trying to take on 5 players?

Yes he stole Sterling of his character in order to make him less creative. It obviously made him more efficient but way less fun.

I find Guardiolaā€™s style of play intolerably terious. I know some of you love it.

Good header by Barkley, although its probably not going to be worth much. Its a bit unfortunate for them, Luton have had a legitimately good performance for much of the game but fair play to Palmer and Madueke they took ther chances very well.

de Bruyne back on bench.

What is or what was even Sterlingā€™s character that apparently disappeared?

I saw the same guy, but just that he became a better player, more decisive and with seriously high numbers for a few years. That was his peak.

Which is a success considering the sitters he can miss with some horrible amateur shots in certain situations.

With 4 minutes left, 2-3 and Luton looks way more likely to get a third than Chelsea a fourth. That said, I bet theyā€™ll get 4 minutes of stoppage time.
