Premier League 2024/25 (Part 1)

Hi, yes, good morning. Which one are we planning on watching?

It’s too easy to say that, especially when you ignore the context.

They have competition with WC players. Who is Lavia going to replace? How many minutes can he realistically expect?
Even if you took him back to City today, he still wouldn’t start with everyone fit.

That was a terrible post-game from Ange.

“If all things were fair and equal we would have won today”. When pressed on what he means by that he just repeated it x 4.

I noticed Reguilon came on today for his first Spurs appearance of the season. Where has he been since the summer. I cannot find any news of a loan or injury? Has he really just been frozen out until now?

All of them were good enough to have had some opportunities at City if they had a manager approaching things with a view to the long term. Had they had interest in doing that instead of viewing kids only as potential revenue, then when finding themselves in the midst of an injury crisis and dramatic loss of form of some older players who he is being forced to persevere with, they’d surely be navigating this period better.

City have a raised a huge amount of money using their approach so that does need to be acknowledged. But where they are today is what happens with that approach when only a small number of things go wrong with your senior players.

Not City v. West Ham. I had some hopes but my Hammers-supporting brother appears to be correct in suggesting they might be fucked.

Sky Germany has a Simulcast for the 5 matches.

City-West Ham for me. I am steering clear of the Chelsea game to ensure I am not blamed for what happens there and because watching chelsea is like putting pencils in my eyes.

Somewhat against the run of play a flukey opener for City…huge deflection on a Savinho cross-shot

Savinho 1-0 off a deflection

I think I might go for some Bournemouth doing their best to put Everton in the relegation fight, and some overdue 2025 operating budget work. There is a distinct possibility the latter will be more engaging and entertaining.

Operating budget schmoperating budget. You have more important matter to attend to, and if those pencil-pushers down in finance don’t like it, invite them to suck your balls.

That was the network option. I had it on but decided to switch when 30 seconds in an Everton defender ruthlessly scythed down Evinalson in an orange card challenge.

They had opportunities given the players they were competing with. But they needed more and were not willing to wait, rightly I might add.

Some opted to wait. Like Oscar Bobb for instance…

These things happen.

Kudus would be amazing if he could dribble around 10.

And I really wish they’d stop calling him Kudos.

Palace are shit

Unfortunate, there wasn’t a great deal of threat otherwise.

Absolutely savage deflection OG for Milan in the Supercoppa yesterday v. Juve, seemed to reverse the spin of the cross and turn it into an impossibly lethal shot.

FFS @Limiescouse

I read it as a statement that due to the lack of quality games in this period he was going to spend his time trying to suck his own balls.

I may have read things into it that were not intended though.
