Premier League 2024/25 (Part 1)

Nunez can come close to him if he can work on his first touch and ball control. He has the finish and physique and pace in him but erratic touches and ball control tests patience.

He has chosen where he has gone since he left Norway. He turned down bigger clubs to play for Salzburg because he felt it was the right step, for his development just as he did in moving to dortmund and negotiating a contract that under paid him in exchange with clauses that allowed him to control his exit to who he wanted when he was ready for it.

He reminds me of a shitty overpowered FIFA regen when you’re ten seasons deep into a career mode.

Exactly this. I suppose he has been very lucky, he has had very good football people around him, helping him to choose the wisest path to become the best he can be. His father is for instance quite the smart guy (particularly for a footballer) and his agent was, despite being a pest, rather brilliant.

Also the benefit of being raised “rich” and being comfortable turning down money early in his career in favor of pursuing the best path for his development

Undeniably true. He came from a very well off background. Not exactly amongst the most moneyed in Norway, but still absolutely a rich family (and his father had rich friends, contacts, social networks, all very important too).

In general, I think it is a universal truth that while some have genetics to become great in a sport (or many sports), it is far easier if you come from a stable, well off , background to reach ones potential. That’s probably true about most things in life too, certainly intellectual pursuits and business.
And now I could have gone on with a sad rant about all the brilliant people we never get to see, due to inequal opportunities, but let’s not go full The World is Sad and Unfair (in this thread)

I doubt they need him to beat the Hammers tbh. But he surely helps with his passing and vision.

only way to have a chance is to go at city

City relaxing too much, Catalan guy is irate. Unless they step up, The Hammers could get a few chances. At least corners and free kicks.

Very good subs. Antonio seems to have lost the edge he had couple of years back.

does kudus have a clause?

Around 85 million i guess. Remember reading few weeks back.

City has psychologically deflated a bit (by that, I mean that they as a team, plays lower tempo, more careless and less serious), it seems to me. I think, while the chance is fairly slim, West Ham can get an equaliser here.

Easier for West Ham to play now and they seem to be grabbing the chance to do so…

West Ham need a shoot and grab may be a brilliant header by Souchek.
