Premier League 2024/25 (Part 2)

1 ahead.

I meant they were 1 behind.

Arsenal are going to go one better than Spurs and finish 4th in a two horse race

It’s fascinating.

From the BBC website

ā€œOf the goals Arsenal have conceded this season 38.7% have come from set-piece situations - the most in the English top flight.ā€

ā€œIn their past five Premier League games Arsenal have taken the lead, but in four of those games they failed to hold on to that advantage.ā€

ā€œIn total they have dropped 21 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, their joint-most in a single campaign (also 21 in 2019-20).ā€

It’s easy to see Arsenal picking up only three points from their remaining three games. That could see them finishing in fourth place. They’re not going to beat PSG so their season will crash and burn.

If that happens I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arteta getting sacked.

The thing that makes this statistic so amazing… Arse have not had to face the biggest set-piece cheats in the league…
Obviously, that is themselves :0)

For a supposed setpiece specialist as their specialized coach. They are rather shit at defending from them.

Teams have become wise to there set pieces too now 2 goals from last 74 set pieces.

Comical, but realistically possible end to a glorious season would be Arsenal finishing 6th, and Man Utd & Spurs occupying 16th & 17th.
Only down side is it looks like one of the latter 2 will win a trophy

The lesser of evils/more comical would be for Spurs to win the Europ League.

Just imagine the combined fume from the Mancs and Gooners

Yep.
If Spurs were playing anyone other than the Mancs, I’d love to see that ā€œI always win a trophy in my 2nd seasonā€ blow up in his face

Just watched recap of season 2020/2021 on Sky.
Ironic that our title win in 2020 was dubbed a ā€œCovid titleā€ by so many people, when in fact we were so far ahead prior to lockdown it made no difference.

Yet 2021, virtually the entire season was played to empty stadiums and no mention of a Covid title there.

They really fucking hate us, and I love it that LFC gets under the skin of so many

I was thinking last year that I’d be jealous at whatever club won the first PL with fans after City given that we were robbed. Thought unfortunately it would be Arsenal, didn’t think it would be us.

The best part: there’s no questioning this one!

He wont be sacked this year. But it is common for seasons to start the way the last one finished, and quite how poor Arsenal have been in this run in has been masked by their CL run and insistence of pundits that they were contenders even when the points said otherwise. If this form continues into next season they could well find themselves out of a title race by October. If it is perceived that another summer of bad recruitment (either not going for a forward again, or doing so and watching him struggle) contributed to that then the pressure will start

Look, Arsenal have had a ton of injuries…

Nice goal from Minteh with the aid of a little deflection, it was all very Mane esque.

Maybe Arsenal might keep their 2nd place after all.

Taxi for Ruben.
