They improved the side that Liverpool should have really finished ahead of last season but for injuries, while Liverpool did nothing to improve their own. And Liverpool are the ones who are now ahead by 12 points at the worst. How so?

I can’t particularly lead to a Super League breakaway considering there are 12 or so teams competing this season.
Also add Spurs and Man Utd who will not continue to be that bad and you have a decently competitive league. The problem is relegated clubs and the ones who come up.
I think the teams that might end up doing the job and perhaps staying up will be teams like Leeds.
There is probably over the two leagues about 10 leagues in themselves. PL 2 is probably the likeliest solution at some point.

The bottom three have obviously underperformed, but the league, as a whole, has been very competitive. We recently had a very tough game against Wolves, for example, and other low placed teams have troubled those at the top.
