Premier League 2024/25

I thought so too. It would appear however that some people are unwilling to look beyond a headline. A general scorn for journalists appears to be the typical reaction now to anything the reader might disagree with.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Yep. Stay humble Sherwood Forest.

This was my thought.

There’s only one way to make them stay humble but remember that we’ve had it pretty rough against them since that FA Cup game three years ago. I can’t remember having a comfortable win against them since and that September defeat will be brought up many times in the build-up to the next game against them.

We beat them twice last season.

Doesn’t much matter what the results were mind as they are different players and managers.

We’ve been here with Chelsea and Arsenal being talked up.

Yes, but it was 90+9’ before we scored a winner in the away fixture, which was after Nuno took over.

Games against a Nuno team are never easy. Apart from a 4-0 once we’ve mostly won only by a single goal.

Doesn’t matter how you win, you win. You could say they only won by a single goal in September.

Yeah I think that was @Nikola’s point though, that it’s been tight and they’ve been giving us a hard time.

Nikola’s point is it we should stay humble which we should.

Maybe they should to, it seems they are counting the points already.

Thought it was just a lame attempt at banter. But regardless, if you were them, wouldn’t you be jolly too? 2nd highest points in the league at the halfway mark when you were expecting a relegation battle is not bad.

There were new managers in Liverpool-Man United Anfield fixture, yet the outcome was identical…

Sometimes a team just doesn’t sit well for our team. Leicester and West Ham, I think, I hate when we’re playing against them. It’s not like we didn’t have comfortable wins against them but we lost points to them in seasons where we lost the title by a single point and suffered a few embarrassments in other seasons.

Our recent wins against Forest were mainly by a single goal and I’d be surprised if we managed to score more in case we won there. They are league’s in-form side over the past five or six weeks, so I understand the smugness of their fans. I just hope our lads will be up for it this time.

Is it smugness, or simply (justified) elation?

If you put it that way, you’re right. Write that off on the basis of language barrier, please.

Forest’s big issue is that they are a counter attacking side and that doesn’t work as well at home as it does away.

They’ve lost twice and drawn twice in 9 home games - without playing any of the big sides at home yet. They’ve only scored more than one goal twice (West Ham 3-0 win and Villa 2-1 win).

They’re a side we should be beating but we can’t disrespect ther counter-attacking threat. They showed against Wolves last night how deadly it can be despite being outplayed for most of the game they hit the counter at the right moments, take their chances and win 3-0.

Also, we have to consider what Nuno did tactically against us at Anfield, they never looked like scoring, but he had kept Hudson Odoi and Elanga on the sideline until 70 mins then introduced them. With their fresh legs and pace against our tiring legs, they caused us all sorts of problems.

I thought that was very clever by Nuno

I don’t understand the love-in for Forest at all. They’re owned by a cheat and a general piece of shit. Their supporters have always been dodgy at best. Absolute cunt of a club.

Shite city, too.
