Pep Guardiola: Manchester City players can 'celebrate how they want'
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his players can "celebrate however you want" in response to criticism for their reaction to beating Arsenal.
The real surprise is Chavs even considered Rosenior suitable, no less, he also believed it. Completely out of his depth and always looked to me like a holding guy until the summer. Also, I think he is a bit of a twat.
It really is a funny old game, Chelsea making all our lives easier by sinking into their own mediocre times.
They will defo be all out for FA cup final chance now as the teams around them have opportunity to leap-frog them and grab the Europa places.
The last time Chelsea won the title 9/10 years back, they were playing 3 CBās. I may be wrong but was that the only time that formation was played in an entire season for a champion in premier leagues history?
I know Alonso incredibly went invincible with Leverkusen in the German league, but if he does arrive as the next coach, are people pro 3 CBās or neg 3 CBās - and if Konate doesntāt sign an extension, do we need to bring in premier league experienced CBās ?
Bravo Dominos
- thatās genius!
48 days and counting without a goal wow ⦠they will probably score next against us at Anfield and beat us, and we still finish in 5th place.
This season is totally fucking broken ![]()
Literally the same reason I despise her, and now I despise you for sharing my despise.
Kind of depressing how many people enjoy crap pizza in this country.
I really hope Arsenal pip them⦠proper club v plastic club.

Yeah but yet another known plastic/asterisk versus LegoMan inspired corner-pull-ball taking route in the PL? Iād prefer Cheaty TBH.

Their saga of being artificially injected with tons of money to compete big, and then miraculously actually beating everyone, including those spending much more, and winning. That part of the saga read nicely like a fairytale.
The thing that cannot be overlooked is the death of Vichai in 2018 in the helicopter crash. Itās difficult to express how adored he was around the City and by anyone remotely associated with the club, and those same people will universally say the quality of ownership and how well the club was run went downhill noticeably once his son took over. Vichai was not a young man and so would have had to have a transition at some point, but maybe had he been able to put another 10 years into it, and another 10 years of grooming his son as his #2 the more natural transition theyd have been hoping for might have gone better.

Heās not wedded to it like Amorim was. He played four at the back at Madrid.
Horses for courses.
They go hard on the student market but I agree itās utterly shit.
He did definitely play four at the back at Real for almost the entire first half of the season, however he tinkered to it during the Club World Cup after only a couple of weeks into that job.
He switched it to 3 at the back for no apparent reason, because the same 11 players all started in the lineups of these games :-
Red Bull
Juventus
Dortmund
As there were no player injuries, his decision could only have been tactical - Tchouameni was moved from midfield into the back 3 CBās and Trent and Fran Garcia were positioned RWB and LWB.
He was done just after Xmas after 5 consecutive Real victories and a really close Supacopa final. Someone needs to be honest and announce what really occurred during those short 6 months. He was an ex-excellent player for them (and us) for goodness sake. Hardly a club heading towards a crisis. There was something mentioned about an alteration with Vini jr ? But player power shouldnāt determine a coachās fate, so there has to be something more to it?
If he takes on the Liverpool job then I reckon fans would have to accept that there is a very good chance it could go 3 at the back as a tactical solution based on the opponent being faced. And possibly Gravenberch making that CB space up while his previous RWB for a whole invincible season goes to that position and Kerkez plays as the LWB.
One way I would see around any of that ![]()
is honesty in conversation with the owners.
Or the owners just go out and make the first purchase a regular experienced RB on June 15th and say to him, this is your starting RB in the lineup as Frimpong is moving up into the RW. That hopefully puts the 3 at the back to bed, unless FSG are already contempt and fine with it?
I dunno what the fans think about that though?
When the difference between a back 4 or 5 is just what your 6 is doing and where he is positioned rather than adding another defender to the team, then it is well within the limits of tactical and shape tweaks we see all the time in well coached teams in other areas of the pitch. Itās no different than what Rodgers referred to as āflipping the triangle.ā with his midfield
rather than adding another defender
Alonso added another extra defender into the starting lineup at RCB before the games kicked off against Juventus and Dortmund in a pretty big brand new competition format. It was the midfielder Tchouameni and he setup the structure to go as wing backs because he wanted Valverde to move and become the number 6 on those examples.
He won both of those games!
You could argue that that is some smart technical nouse ⦠but if heās starting at a brand new club, his old club, the best club. Then I would want to hear in first press conference, Liverpool teams like to go out as a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2, whatever you want ⦠but if itās gonna be something like we have the players that can interchange and start as the 3 or the 5 at the back already and thatās going to be ok to experiment with for a relatively newish squad that has basically lost its previous legends, except Virgil ⦠then Iām not buying into it!
Someone really needs to ask Virgilās opinion on it, on whether he would want another body in and around his space that he will be inevitably shouting at.

Anyone who approaches football like that is getting no where near the Liverpool job. This level of magical formation thinking is why Amorim was overlooked not because of the specific shape
What, you are against a coach being adaptive in his formation to get the best out of his players in a particular game or to make us successful?
I donāt care what formation is utilised as long as we play an attractive and successful style of footy.
Cool
- and thereās 2 fans so far that is comfortable if the team plays in 3 at the back next season. When I first asked the question of are you pro 3 or neg 3 ? It was to gauge sort of whether it bothers folks, or just itās ok with letting a new coach bring a new dimension of ideas along with him? Alonso may swerve back 3 all together, but on the other hand, I dunno?
I would expect our captain Virgil, who probably is in the last season of his career, and definitely the most important player going into next season, wouldnāt be keen on adapting and experimenting with the 2 new CBās either side of him that havenāt played a single full premier league game yet.
Thatās my thinking on this, start 4 at the back, or fuck off, haha sorry Iām 1D ![]()
City scored early and are top of the league for now. Dominating the match but not over yet. Might be a dangerous result if they donāt score early in the second half.
