look at ‘la decima’ a few years ago, and the aura Madrid has built up around their CL status… the first five wins might not have been down to cheating, but they were in an era when they were about as prestigious as winning a pre season friendly…
the flipside is that the more people they cheat out of a league…the more people might actually do something about it.
you also have the guardiola might just fuck off if he wins it factor as well…
personally ideally if Villa cant somehow tin arse it, then probably Arsenal on the Caveat they dontr win it again, or any other trophy this season…and then i hope Guardiola fucks off anyways…
it does have this feel of Fergies last few years to it to be honest…hes just as likely to put out a winning team, but i think ( i hope anyways) his best City team is in the rearview mirror now… he may well leave a great legacy, but something…something…is different
Arsenal shouldve put this to bed by now so that the game at the emptyhad in April shouldnt matter. I think I heard that both teams have the same amount of points in the last 7 games so neither are great.
I was on an Arsenal fan site for a few minutes last night to see how they’d taken it.
One thing that came across pretty clearly is they know a lot of LFC fans want Abu Dhabi to win it and they can’t get their heads around it. “How can supporters of a team cheated out of 3 PL titles by these cunts want them to win it”? seems to be a common question, and in all fairness it’s a pretty good one.
I think it’s a number of things. Wanting others to suffer the way we have is one. One they’re overlooking is just how fucking obnoxious their own club is, gobshite fans, gobshite manager and gobshite, cheating players.
This is something I’ve hoped for for a long time but it doesn’t appear to have any legs.
We’ve been cheated out of 3. Man U 2 and if City win it again Arsenal will have been cheated out of 3.
That’s the 3 biggest clubs in English football cheated out of 8 titles in total. That we are still in a position where we are none the wiser about the 115 charges is a fucking national scandal and a complete show of shithousery by us, Man U and Arsenal.
“We can’t do this, we can’t do that” and “we can’t do anything to prejudice due process” are all fucking cop-outs now. Can anyone imagine the likes of RM and Barca putting up with the same thing if Girona were hoovering up titles in Spain. It’s laughable.
Arsenal are fortunate that we have fallen off a cliff and City are not as consistent as they were in previous years under Guardiola. There is a genuine possibility that team who win the league get less than 80 points which hasn’t happened in almost 30 years.
Man United team that won the title in 2010/11 takes that particular cake for me - though the one winning it in 2012/13 wasn’t much better in my opinion but it did have Van Persie playing out of his skin.
I would say on par, I’ve made my thoughts known how awful I find this style of football.
Saddest thing is they can play much better than that. Even up to the second they showed that, in Europe they show it.
They are lucky they aren’t being chased down even by us from last year let alone a Klopp at its peak but if I’m honest they are basically doing what they did last season. Same period as well.
They may win it, but my only interest is in us denying them of wins in the FA and CL and trying to win them ourselves
Arsenal never really went far away enough from City (and the rest) for me to call it over in recent weeks and months (especially), even though it looked pretty good for them. Especially when it’s City behind at or less than 10 points behind. It wasn’t over then and it’s now over now, either. Still pretty open and even more now. They might still succeed. I don’t even know what people get from spending a season of just throwing different radical predictions, what, to turn out smart at the end of the day?
And as for analyzing who’s fanbase is more this or that online (how do you even measure that?)… that just sounds tiresome and impossible really. People behind screens, there isn’t much value there. Compared to the impact that outside world can have on the inside.
Rather stick to watching games, “worry” about my team and just follow the rest normally.
