Pretty much - two games in a row. With Villa losing, this basically gives them a free pass at the third spot. Two months ago, no one had them at third.

Maybe.
I am not convinced it is that easy. Clubs in form often thrive playing many games, at other times it is a detriment. Generally, the best clubs in England are good enough to play both league and Champions League football without being affected too much, I would argue.
