Premier League 2025/26

I’ve heard from Brighton fans it dates back the 70s when Venables and Mullary were the respective managers and had a long time dislike of each other from their days at Spurs. With neither club having much of an obvious geographical rival (who else is in South London? Milwall? Charlton?) the fan bases welcomed it and allowed it to build.

Looks like I will be in Dublin for the Newcastle match. I may need pub recommendations.

Great… Monday night that’s always a shit outcome.

Bank Holiday isn’t it.

That’s at least good about Arsenal mind as I am travelling on the Saturday.

One way around the Saturday 3pm blackout laws, I suppose

Yeah I do think the next Football League deal will finish that off for good.

It’s already silly that there is a blanket ban on TV coverage for say Bundesliga yet La Liga TV can be accessed for the game at 3.15pm.

All games not at 3pm on a Saturday will be live from this season mind so you won’t have the silly Sunday afternoon scenario where there is 4 games and tv companies are only showing Wolves V Burnley.

So, I’ll be watching the Arsenal in Portugal then… last game I watched there finished with a trophy lift…

Spurs apparently close to signing Gibbs-White. Assume City have cooled their interest, smart signing nonetheless.

Its a very good signing I think, but big shame for Forest to lose both him and Elanga, both of whom I thought were excellent last season.

The Elanga offer was probably too good to turn down, I assume MGW has a release clause for CL clubs or something as you’d think they’d fight tooth and nail to keep him. Will be interesting to see how they replace both anyway, the defence remains in tact so at least they still have that solid base to work from.

How good would 9 points from the first three PL games be eh..!
Got a sneaky suspicion, AS is not one to mess about here…
He will get us off to a really good campaign this season.

Our Monday record is atrocious though.

Arsenal play Utd the first week. Imagine them losing to us to close out Aug with 1 point and Arteta getting the hook before school was back

Mine too.

Forest very unhappy with Spurs conduct re MGW. Something about a confidentiality agreement in the release clause.

Some argue Lyon’s financial troubles started before Textor arrived, but both Lyon’s sanctions (currently averted on appeal) and Palace’s loss of Europe are down directly to the actions he took, or failed to take, as owner. I wonder if there is potential for either or both clubs to sue.

Textor: “We did everything possible to comply with the rules”…except follow the rules and comply by the clearly stated deadlines for consideration for the upcoming season.

I guess the silver lining for Palace is that they would have enough quality to potentially win the Conference League, but would likely exit the Europa at the last 16/8 stage.

I dont see why Palace would be intimidated by the Europa League. I think the Prem is strong enough that any entrant from the league would fancy themselves for a deep run in the competition.

Palace would win the europa. Fucking spurs and United made it to the finals.

Maybe… I think the quality last season was piss poor by normal Europa standards… though without the CL teams dropping down, maybe that’s the “new normal”.
