the problem is, theoretically, you cant have a rule that punishes an injured player.
its tough becuase its a scurge on the game and there wouldnt be a fan out there that doesnt want to see time wasting gone from the game … but at the very base of the issue is that if a player is injured they deserve to be able to have treatment.
i think the answer is really simple, just add the correct amount of time on, and in the cases of repeated time wasting, if it can be reasonably ascertained, then start brandishing cards.

Sometimes, other than real injuries, it is not a matter of wasting time, but breaking up the opponents’ momentum.
It is mainly used as a tactic to break up the tempo of a team in the ascendency
yep, i understand that, but there is litterally nothing you can do about that unless you appeal to the players good will, or putting a ruling in, that will, at some point, likely put a players health at risk.
for every 3000 time wasting fakes, there would 1 real injury that needs attention.
you can’t deny a player that attention and you cant penalise him for seeking it, otherwise we head back to 1960s football where people are kicking the living shite out of each other

What’s not being explained in the video is that if no player is being nominated than the team captain has to be the one suspended for one minute.

Yes, for me it seems pretty wide open, in terms of who the title favourites are and who the top 4 could be.
Arsenal have the advantage of continuity, and maybe they’ll be slight favourites for that reason? I don’t know.
Behind them though, there’s so many unknowns. City, Chelsea and Liverpool with new managers; ManU trying to build on their results after Carrick came in, De Zerbi at Tottenham; and then there’s Emery. How are Villa going to look this season?

Indeed, there’s more to it than buying players. I like watching De Zerbi’s teams, and I thought it was interesting to see how little time he needed last season to make them look like a much more cohesive team, so I’m curious to see how they look throughout the season.
