Yeah, Iām interested too. Arsenal have to be massive favourites because, unlike us last year, they havenāt changed a lot in the squad. If I havenāt missed something, it will be roughly the same one as last season, with one or two newcomers. Stability. But itās hard to retain a league title, so weāll see.
All other big clubs are in a period of transition. Impossible to say how they will fare.
For us, we are a bit thin in terms of quality in depth. Iām curious to see how Andoni will do with what he has at disposal. I hope for a good season from our lads, while not expecting too much from them. Iām just hoping for some good, exciting football to watch, and that our lads will be able to put 100% effort and energy into their performances, also collectively.

The difference I see between this upcoming season and the last one, is that we now seem to have a squad mentality that is improving, and a manager that will have them scrapping for every single point we can getā¦
Would just love our new gaffer to win the PL at his first attemptā¦

Just make the point that I only think Man City have done well after a charity shield win and they are cheats.
Literally it seems a precursor to winning at best the league cup.
From my POV, Arsenal being Champions has been an utter non-eventā¦the unbearable crowing many were dreadingā¦havenāt seen it.
If it canāt be us, theyād be my choice to win it again.

There was a piece that came out last spring (I assume the athletic) that tried to trace the decisions and thinking over the last few years that contributed to Arsenalās title win. It was a good piece, but I took away the conclusion that Josh Kroenke had introduced a very American view of sporting success. The way those leagues operate makes it harder to keep winning sides together and evolve it gradually over time the way perennial contenders do in football. Itās boom and bust cycles, that are then exacerbated by team executives buying into that as an unavoidable reality and so putting everything they can into winning in their āwindowā even at the cost big problems to solve down the line. This article claimed Arsenal identified the last two seasons as what they should plan for based on expected falls of everyone else and their business was based around building to peaking in that period.
The point of this? I see some slight evidence in the transfer activity that they arent thinking of their title win as something that opens the door to sustained success if they do it right. Its more a case of sacrificing 5 or even 3 years from now to maximize the amount they can win in this āwindow.ā As far as the cost to us of other sides winning stuff if we cannot win it, a side that thinks like that isnt that bad for us.

Iām only following the stats of 1 shot and XG of 0.03 doesnāt point to a bright era.
And Iām not sure this Arsenal team is much to write home about. As I said Charity Shield.
I havenāt heard anyone question Maresca with any conviction yetā¦all the commentary seems to think he will just pick up where Pep left off.
