Up early doing some work, got the usual moaners on in the background for some very decent laughs.
I know Liverpool was in the wilderness for a long timeā¦but honestly, bias asideā¦I do not recall the malaise ever being so repetitive, by which I mean this never-ending boom/bust cycle of same players under new managers.

I donāt think we ever made the mistake of appointing club legends after Souness. Once we moved from our boot room system that was it so the 00s were generally quite a substantial time even if there were some dogdy players around ultimately H&G meant a ground zero rebuild but it got there of course accelerated by Klopp but merge of Kirkby has meant a rather settled approach. I noted a number of the players last Tuesday being the nucleus of what Klopp was bringing through and I think Gordon and FSG realised Slot didnāt trust there tradition, Heās not throwing a Koumas on for example.
Leoni and others should be hopeful when they return but yeah off on a tangent, weāve never been lower than 8th up to now. No club can claim that during the PL period in fact it goes all the way back to the year we were promoted. There wasnāt a period onwards from Evans league cup win in 1995 til Rafa leaving when you didnāt think every 2/3 years weād have a challengeif sorts
Just over a decade on Ferguson and their seen their 7 worst PL seasons and though all top 8 bar one, that one was truly atrocious, the problem you have is they cleaned completely out last season had no cups and a bounce from Carrick but the issues are in the upper echelons.
When they play Rubenās Milan there were stuff coming out that the top brass wanted to beat him and teach him a lesson. It was a fucking friendly if anyone wanted ārevengeā it was Ruben for being sacked. It screams petty and childish.
Carrick can easily get them firing but like Spurs in these first 5-7 games there seems something not quite right there and at least Spurs have the excuse of a complete revamp. Settled sides who havenāt turned up yet would concern me.

I think timing is a big part. Our shite years were before the rise of social media and youtube. Were youtube and co. around during the Souness years, then I bet our fanbase would be looked at in similar ways to Goldbridge, Flying Pig and Alice

We had the entitlement taken out of us by then. Man United fans were entitled before social media and youtube were there as well. And that entitlement hasnāt gone.
