I wonderful player, but inexplicably left out of the squad by Diego in 2010. It is the move that most clearly illustrates how badly he undercut their chances of success. If he wanted to go gung ho with attacking players, had he put EC in midfield alongside Masch they might have had the balance to pull it off.

Unfortunately in countries without a strong independent judiciary and population wide faith in the rule of law, these kind of political prosecutions are surely fairly common? No-one should consider themselves immune from such risks when you have rogue operators like in the US Republican party or those that ape them in many other countries.
I’m sure someone with more knowledge of Argentinian politics will be able to say whether the prosecution is just for the spectacle of a public trial or that actual punishment is desired.
Certainly there are people who believe punishment is necessary, but I think these people are misguided by the spectacle of it all as well as perhaps their own emotions.
This shouldn’t happen. I see no way this turns out even slightly respectful towards Diego or his legacy.
