Called up to the England squad.
I think it’s the only time I’m happy for one of our players getting a call up. I really do think it’s doing him good.
Totally agree with you. I’m shocked to see that kind of dismissive posts on here. This lad is a boy, lads, let him time to develop into a man!
It’s TAN, that’s hardly shocking. It would be a bigger shock if there wasn’t kneejerking.
Yes, unlike the rest of the Internet.
Can’t play on the right, eh?

He can now
!
I think the encouraging thing for me is that some of his passing into the box is quite clever and slick
That´s something the real top wingers can do.
The pass in behind to Frimpong for Barcola’s 3rd was exquisite; accurate and perfectly timed and weighted.
Exactly. When I saw it I thought, “oh hello”.
Ive been a little skeptical of how quickly he has been hyped but that was the mark of a real quality player.
It’s only LASK, no disrespect meant, but I like it when he plays with a point to prove and when he’s not afraid of trying after failing. If he can what he did last night consistently and also against fullbacks like Kayode or O’Reilly, well, the sky will be the limit for him.
Giving him the title of Rio Speedwagon

The cameo at Brentford was Ngumoha’s eighth appearance of the season and he once again took up a role on the right wing, a position he is becoming increasingly comfortable in.
“I think I’ve got a lot better on the right from the Newcastle game to now,” said Ngumoha. "I think I’m understanding more as well. I think definitely going away with England as well helped me a lot.
“I like playing on both sides now as well and it gives me another tool in the toolbox, so it’s good.”
Like I said not long ago, when he’s on the right, no, he doesn’t have to play like an Aaron Lennon type all the time, even if he can do that. We’ve seen in a few games for England and Liverpool that he has the ability also to attack more on the inside. Like Iraola said, it also depends who’s at RB, because it’s of course different if it’s Araujo or Frimpong. He doesn’t have the right at this age or stage of his career to be branded as a left winger only. When you’re a proven Arjen Robben type, then yes, you’re basically a RW (unless you come up against Lahm at the WC10!). You’re at Liverpool at the age of 18, you have to take any minute you get, even on the opposite wing. He’s not being asked to play in defence. We need it at times and it can also be good for his development. It’s good that he realizes that, is open minded and obviously finds pleasure. There’s more or there should be more to a player other than just coming inside. It’s what often drove people crazy about Gakpo last season, so there you go.
What I also liked about his last outing was not only that he went both ways, inside and outside, but that he often went from deeper. It’s almost an advantage (wrt his skillset) for him to receive the ball during transition in our half as the opposition try to get back and set up. It disrupts them setting up defensively and also gets us up field before they have gotten into formation. Once his link up play begins to come together he could be a real difference maker.
Busting to hear of a new contract being signed soon!!
Loving Rio’s last few performances.
Watched a few interviews and he comes across very well.
The best thing for me is that watching him, he is learning all the time and he his garnering more strings to his bow, he has his steppovers, he now has shown pace off the mark and goes both inside and out with great effect.
If he keeps learning and he’ll become unplayable and isn’t far from it now.
