Oh God, they’re playing YNWA on radio 2. Here I go again!

Very sad news. A legend of the city, a true gent, and of course synonymous with our great club from the days of Shankly.

I remember the emotional FA Cup Final of 1989, just after Hillsborough, when he sang our anthem beforehand. It was an honour to have been able to sing YNWA along with him.

RIP Gerry.

What a awful way to start 2021. Gerry was part of the fabric of LFC with that beautiful version of YNWA. It will always be synonymous with Gerry. He was one of the musical heartbeats of Liverpool city.
RIP Gerry, gone, but never forgotten. When YNWA is sung at Anfield, I will be in floods of tears.

He made some other beautiful songs, another favourite of mine was @Jimmyscase post on Ferry Across The Mersey and this one.
