Are people making sure that Johnson and the rest of Whitehall haven’t all been charged by the CPS yet and the story got buried because Truss incited nuclear war?

Most Western intel suggests the opposite, that the Chinese thought it was Russian sabre-rattling to extract concessions, not a serious threat to start a war. Their abstention at the UNSC is being interpreted as a sign of that, because they otherwise would have been expected to vote with Russia.
They’re all doping anyway! Russia should be kicked out of international competition regardless!

I agree it doesn’t. All I’m saying is that if the ground is normally frozen to say a foot deep it still wouldn’t hold up for long with a 50t + tanks traversing it.
I’m quoting this from large scale construction projects where haul routes quickly become impassable under 30t dump trucks. Fortunes are spent on their upkeep.
I think this is largely a massive blunder exasperated by the warm weather you quote.

By the way, many civilians dead today from shelling inside Kharkiv. A hospital has been hit there (and a lot of residential buildings). I can see if I can find it again later. But those pictures were fairly gory.
I doubt it will be long before we see mass surrenders, defections, or desertion among Russian ranks. When they find out that the pay they’re now unlikely to receive, for a cause they don’t believe in, being led by idiots, against committed resistance, has suddenly halved in purchasing power for their families…
