Russian War Crimes (Part 1)

Of course ! Given John Deere has already taken a side in this war long ago

Their base (that no one knows about, because there are no signs :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:) is not far from one of the regional rugby venues. The only signs are no trespassing, and no drones. The firing range is quite something, targets set at a mere 1km. You can’t see it from the main road, but there is a residential street built on a ridge that backs on to it.

Rumour has it that at least one JTF member has requested and was granted a 3-month leave of absence for ‘personal reasons’ late last month.

I didn’t like the end ‘sentence’:

As long as the Western resupply channels remain open and Ukraine still fields a decent number of fighters, then they’re OK

How can you finish with 'they are ok?

Is that an oxtmoron or whatever?
.

My friend was out doing open-water training maneuver on the coast with them. I saw some of the pics, their gear is pretty substantial. Twin 300hp outboards on a 18ft RIB, which are being replaced with 400’s next year. Need more power…

So is it true Victoria Nuland admitted there was bio labs in Ukraine after being questioned by Rubio? Or is someone going to say the words were taken out of context and that it’s Russian propaganda?

It’s not really surprising there are biolabs. The question really is are there bioweapons labs like the Russians claim.

As an example here is how many there are in the UK

PC2 is a lab with moderate risk eg herpes
PC3 is moderate risk community infection or serious disease eg TB
PC4 is high risk of community spread or is typically deadly like Ebola

But the fact that the US scoffed at the notion, and people dismissed it as Russian propaganda (which I’m 100% sure they are still using it for )I saw the stated documents that went to a US /Ukraine embassy link almost two weeks ago, and didn’t think much of it tbh, then a few days ago MSM started reporting about as a FF …setting the tone for western propaganda etc , Russia then showed "their " evidence, and it was dismissed, Nuland basically admits what Russia accused the us of in the beginning but then changes the story to worries about Russian actions…China is now asking questions about the involvement of the USA and the bio labs, but the thing that got me was someone stated on another forum (again apologies in advance) that another country funding bio labs in another country (in the worse case scenario that Russia seems to be alluding to) is either against the Geneva convention or one of the UN’s charter (again apologies in advance as can’t remember which)…and I just find it annoying the amount of bs that is going on in the name of geopolitics etc and as usual people on the streets pay the price.

The actual destruction of a hospital is the straw that broke the camel’s back, really can’t watch MSM anymore, and appreciate Magnus and livvy for the updates they are giving .

The shoe is on the other foot now, i.e. the whole COVID research lab thing in China… however, I do think it was right to be dismissed as baseless propaganda.

Bio labs can mean so many things. In the UK, most universities, hospitals and companies (biotech/pharma) will have category I, II and possibly category III labs - even Category IV. The use of viruses (adeno, lenti and retro) in cell biology and other medical research areas is very widespread and routine so it is not surprising that there were labs there capable of making these things and using them - for research.

Saying that it was funded by the US can also mean many things - for example many companies, and indeed universities nowadays, in the UK carry out extensive CRO type work (chemistry and biology) in India, China and eastern Europe - does this mean that we are making chemical and biological weapons in those countries?

Russia has also accused Ukraine of having a secret nuclear weapons programme , so I think we can quite reasonably expect that this is just more disinformation coming out of the Kremlin. It serves two purposes ; to terrify Russians at home into thinking that Ukraine poses an existential threat to their country (thereby bolstering support for the war) , and it provides Russia with a retrospective pretext for their aggression in the first place. (handy for when they have to defend the charge that they committed a war crime with an unprovoked invasion.)

Fairly certain that lab in China was also US-funded. Think it was a joint venture to research coronaviruses in general and how to prevent them, ironically?

The other oligarchs sanctioned today are:

  • Oleg Deripaska: Estimated wealth of £2billion and a multi-million-pound Uk property portfolio. Subject to US sanctions since 2018. Has stakes in En+ Group, a major extractives and energy company which owns UC Rusal, one of the world’s major aluminium producers.

  • Igor Sechin: Chief Executive of Rosneft, the Russian state oil company. The Government said he is ‘particularly close and influential ally of Putin’. Already sanctioned by the US and EU.

  • Andrey Kostin: Chairman of VTB bank, the second largest bank in Russia. A ‘close associate of Putin’ who has ‘long supported Kremlin objectives through VTB Bank’. Net worth of £379 million. Already sanctioned by the US and EU.

  • Alexei Miller: Chief executive of of energy company Gazprom. Served under Putin when autocrat was mayor of St Petersburg. Already sanctioned by the US.

  • Nikolai Tokarev: President of the Russia state-owned pipeline company Transneft. Former KGB agent who served alongside Putin in East Germany. Already sanctioned by the US and EU.

  • Dmitri Lebedev: Chairman of Bank Rossiya, which is ‘widely considered to be the Kremlin’s private bank’. Sanctioned by the US in 2016.

But surely Ukraine could eventually become Russia’s Iraq or Afghanistan? With all the weapons allegedly streaming into Ukraine as we speak, Russia could have to deal with a guerrilla war for possibly decades, no? That could cost them much more than the potential benefits of invading Ukraine’s territory. That’s why this war is so stupid imo.

Of course, arms and oil/gas merchants and all the leeches benefitting from this war will say the contrary. They’ll rub their hands in glee and cash in.

Btw, petrol here in Switzerland has gone from roughly 1.50 CHF or €/liter last summer to 1.80 at the start of this week, and now to 2.30 within this week. Experts predict a price of 3.20 at the start of next week!

If this folly goes on, these crazy prices will influence the cost of absolutely all products in the middle term, and will lead to a massive inflation rate…

I wonder how those costs evolve in other countries, but probably, it’s about the same everywhere, bar for the oil-producing states?

And the price of gas… from 9 € / kWh last year to 325 € now… :scream:
