Russian War Crimes (Part 1)

Will it affect the sale of Chelsea ?

Livvy’s post indicates it’s on hold.

A joke

Yes, it can’t happen. They can’t even sell tickets for games.

Sweet as !

Is that because of sanctions or because they have no fans like the empithad can’t sell tickets ?

That’s the first good bit of news we’ve had since this disaster unfolded. It’s high time that Abramovich faced some consequences. If Putin was to go , all these fuckers should face a reckoning for fleecing the country.

I think that comparisons with Nazi Germany are out of place to be honest. Let’s see them for what they actually are, rather than putting an inappropriate label over them.

Yes but it bugs me it took this long.

My suspicious side thinks that they were given warning and allowed to get their personal affairs in order to some degree.

Then again, RA did put the club up for sale, so maybe he didn’t know.

So, their assets have been effectively frozen? That is interesting. I wonder if that will lead to an eventual seizure by the UK… or maybe, it’s an encouragement for these mafia guys to rapidly get a bullet in Putin’s neck, and enforce a policy change? Maybe then, all will be forgiven and forgotten?

While I’m happy this has happened at last, I’m not convinced it will actually pressure Putin. I suspect they will have sufficient cash to carry on as normal. Their employees may suffer though.

For me the question remains how to get pressure on Putin directly?

By putting pressure on the guys surrounding him. On his clients and indirect bosses. The oil and gas magnates. Those who benefitted most from the situation as it was before that war started.

Let’s not be naive, Putin won’t be turned over by the people in the streets, at least not short term. In the short term, he can only be taken out by a palace revolution, similar to what happened to the former Czars at the time. So, if these people in Putin’s surroundings are targeted, who knows?.. That would be the idea I guess.

Edit: completely agree with the arguments of the Guardian article you posted above. The current sanctions aren’t precise enough, and mostly hurt normal Russian people who haven’t asked for that war. It’s those oligarch cunts who need to be targeted by any possible means.

Quite true, I’m just concerned that they are ready and prepared to ride it out.

The difference is that City can but don’t :joy:

Yeah… as always, it’s the small people who will have to pay for something they haven’t organized nor asked for. :rage: We will also be part of the lot I’m afraid, by having to pay extortionate oil and gas prices, and to endure massive inflation rates as a consequence… and we’ll also have to watch our respective states greatly inflating their defence spending, at the cost of other useful and necessary investments.
