A woman burst onto Russia’s main live evening newscast today with a sign that says:

“Stop the war
Don’t believe propaganda
They’re lying to you”

And chanting: “Stop the war! No to war!”

Edit…

No Zelensky isn’t a drunk, doesn’t have temper fits and has charisma!

China said, ‘No!’ then!

Yeah, what I really meant is that they had superior motivation (out on a revenge mission for many) and superior tactics compared to the other European countries, at least at the start of the war. The notion of Blitzkrieg was new as you said, and they took profit from it.

Anyway, just to say that Germany at the time can’t be compared with nowadays Russia, also in their relationship with the other involved countries. It’s apples and oranges.

No on the French tanks but I don’t want to digress so will leave it at that!

the Maginot Line called, and said bullshit

Is it confirmed that China are helping Russia with arms and supplies? If so, this now has an altogether heavier feel.

I have been hoping that China will help to broker some sort of peace deal.

Great example :joy:

So strong and brave, bless her

That’s assuming a lot of intimate knowledge about both men and probably the first time I’ve seen anyone suggest Churchill wasn’t charismatic but I should hardly be surprised…

I think you are misunderstanding my position. Russia and Ukraine decide under what conditions this war ends. Reports over the last 24 hours suggest there has been some progress, and the only way that can be is if there has been concessions made on either side.

I’m not even sure I believe this ‘progress’ is anything more than ceasefires at this stage. But what if negotiations lead toward some form of ceded territory, especially if the situation worsens which it is likely to? I’ve never suggested that ceding territory is what I want.

Just spent a satisfying hour writing some 5 star reviews of hotels and restaurants in central Moscow and added some relevant pictures.

I thought it was pertinent to the conversation. I bet Ukraine wished they had one of those right now on the border to Russia.

Kharkiv now:
