Russian War Crimes (Part 1)

I thought this was a joke, but it may be serious.

Whereā€™s the bombs and planes, Emmanuel?

No doubt a lot of truth here. While it is fun to mock Russian mistakes and Russian military problems, I long ago realised that this is a near peer war. It is true that also NATO would take substantial losses in the multiple thousands if it ever fought such a war. Truth is, NATO never has. Not once. This war is unique in its intensity in modern history. We havenā€™t seen anything like it since Vietnam and Korea. An even so, Russia has not made extensive use of its airforce. It could have been worse, we could have seen carpet bombing with dumb bombs. We havenā€™t. Unclear if this is just because of Ukrainian ground based air defence.

But still, some of the Russian mistakes are obvious and mocking is deserved.

This will surely be seen as progress on the Russian side. The difficulty is the question of Crimea and Donbas. Zelensky has already said that they wonā€™t try to take it back by force, but they wonā€™t hand them over officially, unless they are forced to. This war will last as long as the Ukrainian forces will last I guess, there doesnā€™t seem to be a door out of this.
