Azovstal steel plant is hopefully home to McGyver, The A-Team, Robert McCall, John Wick, Rambo, and Hutch Mansell.
Worth remembering that this is just from the US. Ukraine is getting lots of weapons from other countries and the rate of depletion of assets on the Russian side will be just as high if not higher without the same level of replenishment both in terms of numbers nor tech.
It doesn’t change the fact that depletion rate is higher than income. That makes mounting offensive operations incredibly hard.
Corruption runs deep in Russia.
But that’s how it is in most wars and will be worse for the Russians.
Russian map of Mariupol:
Not when it comes to artillery. They have very significant advantage both in artillery and airpower.
And like I keep harping on about, artillery is the greatest killer in this war.
I don’t think the Ukrainians are going to be particularly interested in going over to the offensive - it would be very difficult to sustain the favourable rate of exchange they have been working with if they began to attack, and it is difficult to see how an attack would shift the strategic balance. There are undoubtedly people in Ukraine who would like to retake territory, but what they have retaken so far is largely territory abandoned by the Russians as unsustainable.
On the other there, it would appear that despite Russian numerical superiority in artillery, the static war is grinding Russian forces down much more quickly than Ukrainian, and the increasing flow of combat drones to UKR is only going to change that.
