Russia’s offensive against Ukraine continues…

I thought this might be more appropriate

Wow, lucky phone that !
Ukrainian claim:
NATO right now

Sorry mate, I just don’t see anything humorous now. I guess I am just the sombre type. For Ukrainian defenders all along the contact line, life is absolute hell tonight. High intensive war. Nothing funny.
This post was from before all artillery along the front opened up:
Tonight is hell on earth.
Now, this is a bit funny though. Got to admit:
I know. It wasn’t intended to be humorous but portray frustration. I just want NATO to enter the fight and give Russia a hiding. Right now, NATO are using Ukraine as an inhuman shield.
Yeah, I understand your feelings there well. It is very frustrating.
It’s a tricky one. NATO will give them a good hiding, at which point Russia will have two options - go home defeated, what’s left of them, or introduce a tactical nuke - and I’m pretty sure under the circumstances they would cross that threshold, and then where would we be?
I hate that we are in that situation. It is heartbreaking for Ukraine. They need to be armed by the west, much more aggressively than so far. It is of course happening somewhat, but not enough to give them a square go at defeating Russia. They will get victories along the way, and they have been doing that, but only one of the two countries is being razed to the ground.
Most experts at escalation theory are pretty sure they would resort to tactical nuclear weapons. It is their doctrine if they are losing to NATO. Escalate to deescalate. This is also why NATO won’t get involved. NATO thinks the risk is too high that the Russians would do as they claim they would do, i.e. use battlefield nukes to shock and awe and force a stalemate. Their theory is that this would frighten NATO into not responding with their own nukes. Much has been written about this, if it is a sane form of doctrine or not. But no one will take the chance. Because NATO a) do not want Ukraine or a NATO base to be nuked and b) do not want to nuke Russia and see what happens then.
If this actually would happen is kind of immaterial, since the risk of it happening is deemed too high. And you don’t accept risk when nuclear arms are involved.
Edit: Most experts don’t actually think NATO would respond to a single nuke with a nuke themselves, more an overwhelming and extraordinary kinetic strike. But then what. Would Russia stop the exchange if it did not work ? Or would they use more. And if they used more…
No one wants to take the risk.
I still think NATO can get more directly involved, even engaging directly with Russia, without that escalation.
Zelensky requests protected status from western allies, effectively asking help to maintain the integrity of its own sovereign airspace.
NATO deploys ships and other assets and answers Ukraine’s call. Tells Russia that if there’s no ceasefire it will, on Ukraine’s invitation, from x time on x date intercept/destroy any hostile incursion into Ukraine’s airspace.
