Russian War Crimes (Part 1)

Honestly, Mariupol and the coast around it, looks fucked:

Expecting encirclement soon.

People have to note, that although I am not focusing that hard upon Ukrainian armour losses, these are bound to be higher than the Russian ones. Just in case anyone gets the impression that Ukraine is “winning”. Beating back the foe, inflicting losses and tactical victories isn’t winning when RU slowly and steadily takes over more territory. But the cost to RU is high.

Massive explosions in Kyiv right now.

The fact that after 3 days they might encircle Mariupol tomorrow is an astonishing failure in its own right. Most Western military observers expected Mariupol to fall within 24 hours. They now expect the Ukrainians to fight tooth and nail to hold it.

Oh I agree. I am just cautious today, because on twitter, I see a lot of “ukraine is winning” takes and euphoria and I strongly advice against those sorts of notions on Day 3 when RU is steadily advancing (we soon enter Day 4).
All I am doing, since on this forum, I don’t have to worry about Ukrainian morale, is inserting a dose of realism.

In the West, this is becoming catastrophic for Russia. Russian military capability has been dramatically overestimated. I still don’t see a way to victory for Ukraine, but Russian military power being discounted is going to have real consequences. My fear now is that that realization is setting in in the Russian military, increasing the pressure to bring things to a conclusion regardless of the methods.

Yes, exactly, they will fall back to their artillery doctrine. That is what I fear. Putin has gone to far, he won’t back down. Russian MoD thought this would go faster and be less problematic. It stalls in some sectors, RU has logistic problems in some. Morale is reported to be so so. So far they have tried to take over Ukraine, using “minimal force”. I fear they will revert to their standard doctrine and hammer everything down with artillery. Remember, we have seen little shelling inside large cities. I fear this will change now. I am horrified at what could happen should RU decide to try to win fast.

Just now:…

Lots of women. Many of them won’t see their sons/boyfriends/husbands again alive.

I wish I could call down hellfire on Trump. Lightening is not enough, he may survive a lightening strike.

Good night. May the fronts hold. Tomorrow I will be busy with friends (yai) so will not update during afternoon/evening.
Take care everyone. We are lucky to live in peace.

Just read from a cyber technology lecturer at the University of Toronto that this is an untested and unproven technology that probably will have a minimal effect in the best case scenario but more than likely won’t work anyway.

Imagine my surprise at yet another miraculous Musk invention that gets him a lot of publicity but actually does fuck all.
