They still control loads of airports in the east. This is huge, all those unprotected columns heading to Kiev will be decimated.

I’ve just seen the figure of 4,500, for the number of Russian military personnel killed so far. How is this figure verified? Russia are not releasing casualty numbers.

Yeah, when the issue at hand was the LDNR front not the whole fucking country…

And the military buildup in Belarus for ‘exercises’ didn’t give it away? Oh wait, it did give it away but what was it again? Yes, that’s right, Western propaganda.

Not really, seemed from watching that SC meeting that internal political machinations in the Kremlin played a very large role…

Please, do elaborate.

@Magnus and whoever has knowledge about the issues:

  1. What type of Stinger/MANPAD are the west suppling? Are these the old heat-seeking types or more advanced infrared/laser guided type?

  2. What type of weapons do the Mig 29 and SU 25 use? Have they been modified to used western ammunitions?

  3. Any idea how old those aircrafts are? My guess is they are from pre 1991 when they were in Warsaw Pact.

  4. Do the supplying countries (Poland, etc.) or Ukraine has adequate store of spares?

  5. What’s the status of airfields and ground control (radar etc.) to operate these aircrafts. Russian aircrafts are notoriously dependent on ground control.

I know I’m burdening you.

It really is quite the achievement of Putin.

In a week he has:

United the Western countries
Increased German military spending to 2%
Got Switzerland to drop its neutral position
Had financial sanctions place upon it
Had its media outlets banned across the world
Pushed Finland and Sweden towards NATO
Multiple countries suppling lethal aid (including Sweden)
Had multiple hacking events
Killed Greek nationals
Had bans on Russian flights
Kazakhstan refuse to provide military aid
State television hacked
Over 5000 protesters arrested
Inflation hitting 20%

Worst of all their military despite overwhelming odds have been for want of a better word embarrassed.

I don’t think it’s going as Putin expected !!
