From what I have gathered, the Mig 29 provided by Bulgaria, Poland, and Slovakia are the earliest/original version. It’s unlikely that they have had any refit/upgrade. They are compatible to use 80s and 90s era Soviet/Russian weapons and there’s no indication that they were adapted to use western weapons. Luckily, since Ukraine too uses a lot of Soviet/Russian equipment, they probably have a stock of compatible spares and weapons.

Slovakian Mig’s are modernised. Ukraine knows how to use such jets, thats the point. Munition is munition to a large degree. They can absolutely shoot down jets despite not being fancy. You dont need Western weapons.

Truly. I’ve been watching all the major networks since this began and like I said, mostly talking heads and a few cutaways to reporters in Kiev etc but very little in the way of footage of the war, or situational updates. I mentioned before that CNN had ‘Breaking news’ a couple of hours ago. Was stuff posted by @Magnus and thus known by us yesterday.
