This was one of his better showings, and he still lost more duels than he won and his passing was diabolical. He looks like he’s struggling to complete simple 5-yard passes.
It negates his ability to carry the ball, which is truly high, but more often than not, it has no end result because he can’t pass and he can barely shoot. He is just another player who you’d expect to improve after last season and instead he has regressed.

There’s a reason he couldn’t get a game at Bayern.
What the fuck happened?
He does the hard things well and the easy things poorly.
He missed some easy short and routine passes, then makes a couple of harder ones.
Really need to get him focussing on his passing, especially after a dribble.
Same could be said for several players this season.
Maybe there is a common factor here.
Yes amazing how no one is playing at their level and really can only come down to one factor!
This. It’s infuriating to see, especially after the last season. He and Mac Allister in particular look like they are not really sure what ground to cover and what their respective roles on the pitch are this season.
Last season he had a far simpler roll and mostly excelled in it, this season his role by the coach as expanded and it has affected both his and the teams form.
Really really needs to work on his passing, does some brilliant stuff then passes to the opposition.
I do think his defensive work has been under par this year, but so as everyone else and that is down to the coach and our defensive with a lack of shape, direction and philosophy.
