Scottish Football

It’s got no context in relation to poor football results….

In fact it’s pretty much related to that one specific genocide, I have heard it occasionally used for other things but it always sounds forced or wrong

After all it’s “The Holocaust”

It was a word before that though, and can be used in other contexts, although clearly not in this one. I can’t imagine how you could get to Given’s age and not understand it’s meaning though.

Destruction by fire for the most part. I’m assuming that the pundit meant catastrophe or possibly Apocalypse?

It’s not like football commentators to get carried away with their hyperbole. “He literally died out there.”

It’s like the Swastika though, it’s not used in any other context nowadays.

He’s a dumb fuck and if he doesn’t understand that then he’s even dumber. I’ll at least excuse him for his actions post the comment but turn of phrases are a bit different to that.

As I said, academics may use it but if you see “the Holocaust” mentioned you know what it refers to. And it’s not Celtic having a few poor results and getting pissy because they aren’t winning the league by about 15pts again.

As if our match wasn’t bad enough, I am now watching the Stenhousemuir vs Falkirk cup match.

It’s a bit odd, I used to go to the matches fairly regularly, but it’s been 7 years now and feels like another lifetime.

That’s really shot up. I think it was up to £12 last time I was there (2019).

They typically make more from hiring out the plastic pitch.

i thought i would have got a seat on the board for my £20!

The chairman was actually the solicitor I used when I sold my house.

Did he throw a season ticket in?

Would have lowered the value of my house.

You have to be careful that bloke might be back slagging off me disparaging the Scottish League because about 40 years ago Souness was around.

Yeah I know it is Scotland but is this lad Chermiti any good? Only 21. Could be in the Prem soon?

Anyone see his hat trick today?

He was in the PL.

Everton…wow. Didn’t know that.

Questionable whether recent Everton sides could be classed as Premier League especially prior to Moyes returning.

He’s scored 7 all season. 5 of them in 2 matches.
