Deli Alli who hasn’t played first team football for 2yrs… came on as a substitute for Como, against AC Milan in the 71st minute.

By 81st minute, he was red-carded and sent off for a bad foul.

Not sure what else there is to be said…!

“Harsh from the ref, there. Dele was clearly rusty.” - every MOTD pundit.

Ruined the game…

The decline in his career is absolutely astonishing. He turns 29 this year, but has not had a solid season in 5 years. Given the known issues around his mental health, it is hard not to wonder if the covid period ruined his career.

… his footballing career most definitely. His clothing business for which he models items himself, maybe not so much…

Dele Alli has confirmed his collaboration with clothing brand boohooMAN as the England star makes his first foray into the fashion world. Sportsmail exclusively revealed last week that Alli had agreed to launch his own clothing range with the British-based brand.8 May 2018

Motta out at Juventus, which is not surprising since they seem to be stalling badly, but overall is not what I expected. After his success at Bologna, I expected him to flourish at Juve. Instead, Bologna has pulled ahead of them

Its been a spectacular failure given what was expected. His name was even thrown in the ring for our search last year.

These sorts of failures fascinate me as they show how success for a manager at a club seems almost mercurial rather than being simply down to the innate quality of the manager.

No matter how good a manager is, hes waist deep in shit at Juventus and it only gets worse.

The fact that Bologna was stripped for parts last summer, lost their manager, and have had to balance competing in Serie A and the CL yet are right back in the hunt for a CL spot suggests that what is going right at that club is more than one man deep. Motta is far from the first to be seen as a superstar only to struggle when taking out of the supporting environment that produced success.

It is funny, they were so good, so effective, for so long. Now they seem to have crossed over into complete dysfunction.

For all he’s done in the game part of Ronaldo’s legacy will be first breaking Juve and then later pushing Utd past the point of no return.

I don’t know how Tudor keeps getting some of the jobs he gets, but there you go.

Maybe it’s me underrating him.

I was a little surprised to see him as the replacement - I guess walking away from Lazio played to his credit. I thought he did a solid job there, but the fact that he could not come to terms with the club on transfer policy doesn’t suggest a long tenure in Turin.

They were caught out cheating, stripped of titles, and have seemingly become the United of Italy. Able to attract decent players on big fees (relatively) but dysfunctional throughout. I dont like them one bit.

They actually recovered very well from the consequences of that scandal. Under Conte they won 3 or 4 titles in a row with a well balanced squad and then under Allegri improved further to reach 2 CL finals in 3 years. Their problem was they saw themselves at that point in a “win now” moment, and with someone like Allegri in charge had a manager who never says no to new players. They then moved to knowingly sacrifice their future in attempt o get that excellent side the additional quality it needed to finally win that third CL. A tactic headlined with the acquisition of Ronaldo. And it quite predictably blew up and its from there they havent been able to really right the ship yet.

Taxi for Conceicao.

This may very well be the worst Milan have ever looked. See, this is what happens when you sign of bunch Chelsea rejects.

More or less the same collection of Chelsea players finished 2nd last season. Looks to me like Pioli wasn’t doing such a crap job after all.

Pioli was terrible but what he did do well was get the best out of Leao and Theo more often than not and together they bailed Milan out of many sticky situations.

& just as I say that Leao and Theo work nicely on that left side to win that pen.

Although they finished 2nd, it was far from a good season (a bit like the times Utd finished 2nd under Jose and Ole)…they messed up in the summer by letting go the last of their leaders (Giroud/Kjaer/Calabria) and replaced them with more mediocrity.

Cheap penalty
