I am now a ‘Top Fan’ on a Facebook group. Which seems quite odd as I don’t think I’ve been a member of the group for too long and have barely even been on Facebook this year.
Maybe they just hand out the badges like plastic flags at a Chelsea game?

So in recent weeks I’ve checked out some random RWNJ X accounts that have popped up in my feed, really just to see the replies.

Definitely a strong contender for a Darwin Award
I finally got on to Bluesky at the end of 2023. So here are my observations so far.
In function it’s essentially just twitter as you would expect. But it doesn’t have some of the same features - notably no DMs and no bank of gifs to pick from. I don’t know if these are going to be implemented in the future or if it’s a choice. I didn’t use DMs on twitter so no loss there and to an extent it probably encourages actual conversation if you have to say something rather than just:
to somebody’s bad take. Although sometimes, that’s the only appropriate response.
It also doesn’t have ‘trending’ algorithms pushing content at you. What is does have, which I like is the ability to have different ‘feeds’ so one is a global feed where you can see ‘everything’ one is just stuff that people you follow are posting and then you can have specific topic feeds like ‘Premier League Football’ and any post with a keyword or specific emoji will show up in that feed. And you can have multiple of these, so it feels like there is much better control over the content you are seeing .
In general, compared to twitter there is 98% less right-wing trolls, baseball and kpop in the global feed, but there are a LOT more ‘artists’ whose art is almost exactly the same and consists of a specific animal with a ripped torso in various poses (aka furry porn). And of course there is as much politics as ever.
My biggest criticism is that there is still too many people posting screenshots from twitter and saying look what’s happening over there instead of just saying something interesting over here. As the site grows and more ‘celebrities’ join up, I imagine this will diminish. As of now there are a handful, but not as many as I imagined. I did get one of my posts liked by Matilda though 
Anyway, my point to this is that I’ve now been on long enough to start getting invite codes, which should appear once every couple of weeks. If you would like one, then drop a post on here or message me directly if you prefer and I will send you a code as and when they become available.
I got into BlueSky in December as well. haven’t opened it yet. we’ll see what happens here
