A lot of journalists and people in politics have had to be there to keep up with the news.
Itās become such a cesspit that this reason is no longer relevant.
The one big selling point of Twitter was the verified blue tick. This meant that if someone posted something, you knew it was them. (or, at least, their official account).
Once that went, there was no reason to treat anything as trustworthy. Iāve since noticed, with AI being used by news companies, that it is very difficult to find reliable news stories: Just think how many supposedly reliable news outlets refered to stabbings in āStockportā rather than āSouthportā last week.
After the civil war comment and comparing British Bobbies to the Gestapo, isnāt it time that everyone left Twitter? Why continue to support that loathsome hatemonger?
I know that some people on here use it for football or politics gossip, but canāt that be found elsewhere?
I use it.
I follow 8 golf accounts and nothing else.
Obviously other shit reaches my feed, but mostly itās not of interest.
I could say the same about Facebook (which I deleted years ago), a cesspit of disgusting gossip and inappropriate content.
Donāt see a clamour to boycott it.
I only really use it for links from here.
