Pearce reporting that Baj is going to Las Palmas for the rest of the season after pushing to end his time with Salzburg. Apparently, Porto and Getafe were other options who had expressed an interest, but the player preferred Las Palmas.

Interesting choice to pick them over the other options. There is no real difference in the standing of the two Spanish sides, both lower midtable and in a relegation scrap, but interesting he pushed for this over Porto

It’s his own country though.

Sure, but it’s not like Porto would be that unfamiliar. I think for a lad from Galicia, Porto would be far more like “home” than the Canary Islands so I imagine, hope, this is just a savvy football decision based on where he is likely to play.

Yeah but Canary Islands :smirk:

One of the things I found interesting about his breakthrough was that he was far better and cleverer on the ball than you’d imagine of a DM having moved into midfield. Yet, despite that beyond simple match fitness it seems this is the area Slot has had reservations about him. We know in his side there is an increased emphasis on needing to be able to receive the ball under pressure and retain possession and we saw him put through some additional drills in the summer in individual sessions focusing specifically on this part of him game.

Playing time and style. The opportunities are more in Las P and their football is probably better suited atm…

Plus it’s the Canary Islands.

LP can only blame themselves for all the misses…

Fabio Silva pulls one back from a setpiece.
Deserving redemption for all his misses

Isn’t there a La liga thread somewhere?
