Summer 2024 Transfer Window

That is true, although Arsenal’s only signing so far is Raya who they already had so their squad is currently the same.

It should be pointed out though that we’ve also lost the fewest players and already had a very large squad.

Fulham do win trophies.

When they get promoted from the Championship usually

Bet he’s glad he turned us down

Don’t think that is fair as his body (hamstring in particular that let him down).
There are a lot of whatifs to a young player being used so much and breaking down.

Giorgi Gocholeishvili from Shakhtar to Copenhagen on loan, €400k fee.
Yllan Okou from Bastia to Hellas Verona on loan.
Bryan Gil from Tottenham to Girona on loan.
Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna to Arsenal for €45m.

Please be shit. Please be shit. Please be shit

Leo Ostigard from Napoli to Rennes for €7m.
Roman Yaremchuk from Club Brugge to Olympiacos for €2m.

Ben Brereton Diaz from Villarreal to Southampton for €8.3m.

Arsenal get 34m for Smith Rowe. That is absurd money for a kid (still?) whose career has ground to a halt.

Compare it against that… a player who was absolutely dynamite at a team as shit as Sheffield United last season.

United to pay £105m next season?

Good Adams replacement for the Saints - more of an upgrade really, he might look a bit like a caveman but he’s been a constant menace the last 6 months.

Jake O’Brien going to Everton from Lyon for 20m.

Thing that has me confused on this is that Crystal Palace had O’Brien, at the age of 22 but deemed him not good enough. He’s gone and had a solid year at Lyon - I’m not even sure why Lyon were scouting him - and now he’s at Everton. Could Palace really get that talent assessment on him so wrong? I’d love to know why they never found him a pathway to the first team.

Just goes to show you there are many pathways in this game.

Could he have had a fall out with Palace and everyone just wanted a break?

Could have done but he started all of their pre-season tour games then was sold on his return for a small fee. Maybe they think he didn’t fit their system (maybe he likes a 3 man backline etc) but just seems odd that it’s taken him so little time to come back to the PL as a fairly expensive player.
