Not only do they think Isak is worth 6x that amount but they’ve waited until Mbuemo has gone to put their bid in when Brentford have been adamant only one of the two will be leaving.

Weren’t we linked once upon a time?

I was listening to a west ham fan yesterday fuming at Sullivan as his club are planning to sign callum Wilson. He also thinks they are unlikely to sign Elliott now because of the owner cheapening out.

This is a tactical masterstroke. He can play CB and RB. Arsenal need one of those.

To me, that suggests they are flying very close to the wind regarding PSR.

I’m amazed at how shambolic their window has been so far. It’s a catastrophe.

They are still flapping around looking for a goalkeeper, when they could have probably had Kelleher for about £20m if they’d wanted.

They look likely to lose Isak now or at least have to deal with an unhappy player and could have had Etikite had they cooperated with Liverpool, as well as solved their PSR and given them more money to play with. You can’t go round bragging that your striker is a £150m world class player, and not expect him to want to earn commensurate wages.

They need a reality check. They are on the up, but they are not the biggest fish in the pond yet. Bigger clubs will want to take their players and their players will want to go. It happened to us as well. The trick now is to reinvest that money sensibly to take the next step up.

For as much as Cheaty took advantage they’ve also spent lots on the infrastructure of that club and in and around the stadium.

Newcastle don’t seem to have done any of that, was surprised to see the comments on the training facilities.

Look at this pic from 98 or 99

Thuram, Buffon, Crespo, Veron, Nesta, Cannavaro. And who are they playing for? Not Juve or Milan, but a team put together by a Cheese/diary magnate trying to elevate his local club with his personal wealth…an Italian Jack Walker. It gave them a collection of players the club’s recent history did not justify, but it was fleeting. Ultimately they all left 1 by 1 for clubs commensurate with their stature on the world scene.

In short, fuck Newcastle

It’s all a bit amateur really, Howe and a couple of recruitment guys have been left to oversee recruitment following Paul Mitchell’s departure and that lack of expertise is shining through.
