Why not have the transfer window span the close season. It seems ridiculous to prolong it into the start. One injury to a single player in the first few games can cause chaos.

Is it now generally accepted that once a player goes to Saudi that’s it? I was just thinking of Jhon Duran who is young and showed a lot of quality in Villa’s CL run also seemingly in his prime. Also Ivan Toney who has quality.
I suppose they do get paid exorbitant amounts so they don’t have the monetary incentive to leave.
