There is this, churlish stomping off because someone disagrees with you.
Or there is leaving because someone you disagree with decides that insult is the best way to argue.
We can have robust and adult debate, but there are a handful of dickheads who cannot be countered. Because they believe their knowledge to be superior. When it really isn’t.
There are learned posters on different subjects who don’t need to be cunts because posters accrpt they have knowledge. Yet, they can argue and discuss matters without reverting to trolling.
Case in point is @Zoran.
He has an extensive knowledge of tactics, formations, patterns etc…and if you disagree with him he will counter without condescending or weak comedy. So, he is respected. As is @Sweeting etc
Others shine in various guises and you know they are decent people. You feel it.
The minority are the trolls or wannabe experts who cannot have a discussion.
And by discussion, you can actually get heated, throw in a few fucks etc, but know its a pub like discussion. God knows I’ve had a few of them. @TheSweetSilverSong didn’t throw his toys out. He left because we don’t employ the mythical no dickheads rule
Trolls don’t want to discuss anything, their aim is to get a rise out of someone. Wannabe experts think they know everything and don’t want to listen. That’s more of a Dunning-Kruger effect.
We must not forget this lyric comes to the fore in discussions…

Never argue with a drunk is a well known phrase… Hard to judge immediately if that person is at the end of a keypad on the other side of the world, but it is worth considering before getting into a full blown arguement with some…
Yes, plenty of contrasting views and opinions about what’s going wrong with the team right now but, unless someone here has specialist insider knowledge, a finger on the pulse of the club, then that’s all they really are, isn’t it? Just opinions.
I say X, someone else says Y and another says Z, but everyone’s thoughts are valid and people should be able to express them without others making them feel as though they know next to nothing or spoken to in a condescending manner.
i dont think hes overly offended so i apologise if this is too forward, but some of the references to his sexuality seem very child like and at best condescending
every so often the mention of ‘balls’ or some other child like double entendre gets raised around him… seemed he was happy to laugh along with the Dom Sobz crush, but since then, every so often, it rears its head and its at best tedious to read…at best.
before anyone references ‘taking the fun out of everything’…its not fun, or funny.

TBH i dont think anyone here means anything in anyother way than a bit of friendly chat… doesnt mean you have to tolerate it.
it was more of a question than a statement, but id imagine the guys that run the site would be very dissappointed if it was affecting you or anyone else by association.
i dont think the mods need to ‘come down heavily’ on anything, just a little herding in the correct direction.

Having reflected on this shitshow over the past day and a bit, when it comes to football I hope we can all be a little bit kinder to one another (myself included!!). Some posters I really respect hold starkly different views on this to mine, some are at one another’s throats…emotions are running high, the consequence of an incredibly disappointing few months. It goes without saying that opposing views can both be true, I hope we can all accept there is blame everywhere here.
But srsly…the shit times won’t last, they never do.
I like to see balanced arguments, at least thought goes into it.
The ones that I can’t help but bite with are the ones that are theatrical in their posts with one or two sentences, sack him, drop him, he’s shit etc and they seem to genuinley want us to lose or someone to fuck up so it proves a point of view.
I am talking about the tone of the debate more than anything…us flinging shit at one another means we are no better than the beasts (see Manchester Yanited).
