The Arsenal Thread (Part 1)

Arteta has had several years to mould it, look at what Klopp had in 2015.

yay, and there was much rejoicing…

Strange he didn’t mention the team Klopp inherited, before winning it all in 3 yeara

I think most people would put 22-23 as the point at which this became his team. That summer he’d finally rid the last of the high priced attackers he didnt want and brought it in the two lads from City who solidified the idea of the way he wanted to play - an inverted FB to pack midfield and a “false 9” for a forward. Lots of fans were skeptical of playing without a proper striker, but they improved so most went with it, but at the end of the season the general perspective was that if they want to take the next step they needed a proper striker. Arteta didnt just say no, he doubled down by spending a big chunk of budget on a Jesus redux in Havertz and continued playing the same way. Last summer the complaints were still the same and Arteta still ignored them. Now, in this 4th year of proper ownership of the team he manages he has finally acquiesced.

I dont think mangers should be held to account for evolving their style and approach over time. But I think to now go out and buy the most textbook number 9 on the market after 3 years of rejecting claims of Arsenal needing a better striker is probably something that should have questions being asked.

Kai Havertz is my favourite player into the Germany national team. For me is a very great performance, if he are a regular player at a great club in a great division outside Germany. I have a Germany jersey with the name of “King Kai”.

It’s very nice, Florian Wirtz has did too make the step to Premier League, in this case LFC.

Ok, I’m beginning to suspect a wind up.

It is not a joke. Kai Havertz is my favourite player at Germany national team, due he plays for Arsenal FC (until 2023 for Chelsea FC) instead for a Bundesliga team.

Ok, I’m going to assume that you’re serious.
There are, however, a number of football fans who are unimpressed by Havertz and I can see their point of view. There are many here who would love to express their opinions on his abilities or lack thereof.

@Bekloppt

I am try to answer in English (my English is not very good):

I am do be proud to Havertz are plays as a German at a great club in England, mainly as a player at the starting line-up. Here in Germany, Kai Havertz recieves more hate. But I like Havertz and hope, he plays for a long time at North London instead to return at Bundesliga.

Me too!

Really. Havertz are better than the most German players (especially the Germans from Bundesliga). But I think, Liverpool do not need Havertz. “King Kai” and Arsenal = compatible

Liverpool FC have his compatriot Florian Wirtz!

Arsenal has sign Viktor Gyökeres.

Arsenal have made a signing they should have made two seasons ago while everyone has built on what they have.

I can’t but feel they are further behind.

Actually, I think Havertz is actually pretty good. He got 15 goals and 5 assists all comps before the injury, and it would have been absurd to think he wouldn’t have got at least 20 goals had he not done his knee at the training camp.

Moving him away from the false nine position and putting Gyokeres in there is a massive risk.

Agree. He’s a quality player. Just unfortunate/stupid to sign for an anti-football, corner obsessed manager

Yup it’s where I think the simple excuses about them winning the title with a proper striker or Saka not being injured doesn’t quite add up.
