The Arsenal Thread (Part 1)

Arteta is probably relived that he’s starting to get some excuses lined up

That was my first thought.

Pretty honest take

Arteta and Pep taking potshots at each other is so nice. Leave Liverpool and Slot alone and continue to have their stupid rivalry over who will finish second.

Second half they did put pressure on Man City but tested Dommarunna once before the goal and that would have been comfortable for a 5ft goalie as it was straight at him.

They had a dominant spell of about 30 mins but the best chance in that spell was ironically the one Haaland spurned at the other end.

When you aren’t too bothered about the result and a draw will do you see these things more clearly. And he’s clearly talking bull.

We’ve now had United proving they can beat anyone by losing, and Arsenal proving they are the best by “outplaying” a city team oddly content to let them have the ball on their way to getting only a draw.

Meanwhile we’ve won 7 of 7 games and we’re struggling

Yeah, reckon a lot of teams wish they were as bad as us right now

I’m glad he thinks they have a lot of attacking. Makes it even more likely that he’ll keep trying to park the bus and turn wins into draws which will (hopefully) make it easier for us to pull away in the league.

He is either an idiot who really does believe all this talk or he thinks everyone else are idiots and will believe it.

They got a draw, albeit a late draw so it might have felt better than just one point. But one point is all they got. They were at home, and traditionally if you want to win the Premier League you want to beat your rivals at home, draw away, while also picking up the points you need, home and away, against everyone else.

Against that old adage Arsenal fell short against us and against Man City.

Arteta sounds a bit unhinged the way he is going on about their supposed accomplishment. If you want a true barometer, check out what many of the Arsenal fans were saying after the match. They were gutted by the cowardly approach that was designed to contain, rather than going out there to win it.

The Arse, and their fans especially, must realise by now that they are in somewhat of a bind having Arteta as manager…

Looking at this from a logical perspective, they have a manager that has been good enough to get them a runners-up spot for a number of seasons… Meaning, the other managers that have proven to be better than him by finishing first in those same seasons, are unavailable to take his place…

Immaterial of the shit football or hard to swallow tactics he deploys, or the squillions of pounds they have spent bringing in his choice of player… it would be extremely difficult to entice a manager on board that could ‘guarantee’ to get better results than him to win the PL, without taking the club back to square one, spend some more squillions and start again.

While Pep wins it gives other fans comfort that this cheating shitty club are conning themselves to the title however Slot waltzes in, some bloke most of them suggested would be sacked within the season and wins it.

That’s got to hurt when you think it was your destiny last season.

I just read this. Horrendous news. A 21 year old died following (apparently) a freak accident whilst playing.

Demonstrates how brittle life can be.
