I thought i saw a headline saying he was in london this week to finalise it. Funny if he doesnt. We only had to go through the drama for a day or two
I still have not figured out if those admiring quotes about Madrid and Alonso were real, but he makes so much sense for them, especially with the sort of football you’d think Alonso would want them to play, that I’m definitely at least half expecting it to blow up for Arsenal.
I heard he went up to the top of the Shard to see if he liked the mountain views of London.
If Real Madrid are in for him, I wonder if they will keep all their existing main midfielders? Might be one to watch.
It’s done, they’re just waiting for accounting purposes. But I don’t care much about Zubimendi. Don’t think he’s an upgrade over Partey. And their XI isn’t better either. I’m much more worried if they get Rodrygo.
Guess a 60 million Euros + 10 million Euros Add-on + 1 Euro bid to trigger the release clause is coming from Arsenal !! Lol.

Shaping up to be a weird summer for them again. Jorginho and Partey out, Zubimendi and Norgaard in isn’t much of an upgrade for a decent wedge spent.
Striker situation looks to be one that will drag until they finally crack and give either Sporting or Leipzig what they’ve been asking for. Young centre they’re looking at seems pretty raw.
Will Lewis-Skelly play left back full time next season? Big ask of an 18 year old to build on last season and the expectations that come with that. Not sure they’ve got a trusted option at RFW either. Plus some deadwood to clear and need to sort their injury issues, not to mention the psychological hurdles of never quite getting over the line.
Keeper is also still not someone I rate.
Beeb gossip headline says Arsenal enter race for Ekitike.
I’m hoping we sign him, but we need to work on some outgoings first.
I haven’t been paying that much attention this summer.
Is it likely we would go after a traditional striker? It just feels like we will go into the season with the same forwards but with Nunez out and Veertz in as a false 9? It just makes sense on a midfielder level as well knowing the quality we have there..
I was trying to work out how who you meant.
I think Nunez goes we will probably then buy a bit like the Quansah deal.
I just feel, unless Diaz does go, we don’t have room in the team for another forward with Florian already here.
But I would love to take Ekitike and shit on Arsenal’s parade.
Lord knows they’ve taken deals off us over the years.
To be honest looking at the article it seems like Sports Bild trying to cram as many clubs that will get clicks into anyone headline.
Arsenal really didn’t need to rebuild going into this season.
Couple of signings (which included a striker) at best and they would have had their season sorted.
Instead kepa , Zubimendy and norgaard arrive in areas where they do not necessarily need bench strength.
Why would they sign a striker and ruin the running joke? Spurs already fucked up Spursy, and things are not going well.
It is literally replacing players they are losing 1:1 - Neto (back up keeper), Party and Jorginho.
I think they will miss the physicality of Partey, especially against sides who want to have a go.
Zubimendi will slightly improve them as he is a good player, who will pass well and set the tempo, allowing Rice to push on. But I do think they will miss Partey.
Arsenal are obviously a very good side. Their biggest need is a reliable goalscorer. If and when they sign him they should be in the race for the Prem to the end.
If they fall short again, depending on how they do it, the question marks will really need to be asked about Arteta. I see a team that has regressed in the past year or two, pursuing marginal and snide gains, but forgetting the lovely football and freedom they were playing with along the way. If they get back to that they might win the Prem. If they depend on set pieces and the dark arts, they will annoy like some sort of Atletico side, but it will hold them back.
They were in the race til the end and they went backwards last season. Playing a brand of football that looked desperate. There is always a case that a manager has taken it as far as he can go and I do wonder if this is it.
yeah, hes not the most likeable fella in the universe so wont be overly sad to see him leave empty handed…
bit like our brodgers, what with the pick pockets and the speakers playing the anfield crowd and the other hysterics…
i often wonder what the plays whatsapp chat looked like immediately after those ‘lessons’…im tipping would have been good for a laugh
Sure marginal increments at best. Though doubt if Jorginho needed replacement considering he barely played last season as it is. And they do have skelly who’s a midfielder playing as LB.
