I donāt know if will be of any help to you, but I found that commenting out the max-height and max-width values in class img.onebox-full-image (line 157 in stylesheet onebox.scss) restored the oversized image to its ānormalā size.

Sadly your excellent suggestion has been overtaken by events. The WHO has decided to rename the UK and other variants with Greek letters.
When asked why they had chosen to rename the variants with Greek letters, a spokesperson for the WHO said that they didnāt think that it would have been apposite to use French ones. 
Yeh, I saw that after I posted. Delta I think is the Indian one, going to have to get used to them but I think itās ridiculous. The geographical notation is extremely useful for understanding and contextualising the spread of the variants.
