It means you, amongst many people, are so bewitched by him that you will happily turn a blind eye to the most egregious piss-taking in public office.
Just like @Klopptimist. Apparently can’t stand Johnson. Course he does.
Since always. The Prime Ministers finances are always a matter of public interest. Especially, as in the case of Johnson, the Prime Minister can’t help dragging his office into his attempts to repair them.
Let’s just recap.
Sharp helped the Prime Minister source an £800,000 pound loan and was then appointed to the position of BBC Chair, despite a history of campaigning to abolish it.
And people are arguing it’s a private matter? What in the name of fuck has happened to us?
I’ve already argued this out , but for one last time ; If people cannot see how an undisclosed loan of £800,000 from an unknown source to the Prime Minister in return for a political appointment isn’t a matter of public interest and a cause of serious concern , then they are either saying they care not about propriety in public office nor the laws of the land (this loan should have been declared) or they are just as amoral as the man we are talking about.
No, but it also means that when he gets a £800,000 arranged by a man who is later appointed to the chairmanship of the BBC, he doesn’t automatically get the benefit of the doubt.
He’s like a bloody wizard, the spell he’s cast on some of you.
Wanting a reasonable standard of accountabiyy in public life and a degree of freedom from corruption, doesn’t make you part of the Arthur Scargill brigade.
And please dont include me in playing the man, not the ball.
I couldn’t give a fuck about the other elements of this discussion.
But using a childs birth status in this discussion is out of order.
In case there is any doubt about this, I apologise for using the term ‘illegitimate children’ to those of you offended by this. I’m happy to learn from that.
Now, I understand that to some of you it’s more important to get one over on me than talk about the impact of Government on the BBC, but if we can get back to that.
Johnson is a sleaze bag. He has undermined the gravitas, and importance, of the office he held. He dispenses political favors for cash. That’s the egregious thing, politically. There are standards he is simply not upholding. And commenting on his personal life would ordinarily be out of bounds, but because it is such a train wreck, and intimately connected with his need for cash and doling out favors, it is fair game to comment, especially as he is a public figure.
As for the kids themselves, God bless them all, and I hope they all turn out as decent human beings and so on.
But it won’t be on account of their twat of a father.
Once upon a time the Conservative Party had sensible, statesmanlike figures who would have quietly kept Johnson away from the party leadership. Hey ho.
