The British Broadcasting Corporation

Think in this current state of affairs, there isn’t much of a choice, is there? Unless the electoral system gets reformed, you’re essentially really just looking at either Conservative, or Labour. Not much else you can choose.

Assumptions

I voted Lib Dems at the last election, purely on the basis that they had a chance of regaining the seat from SNP in my constituency. And they did.

On the whole, who do you think has a better chance of forming a government that’s not Conservative?

Labour? Liberal Democrat? SNP? Greens?

The point was that no matter which option you choose locally, it still winds up being the two options.

Was my post directed at you?

Small hint, it wasn’t.

Yes it was a personal loan, required for reasons unknown other than Johnson had apparently got himself into a “bit of financial difficulty”.

Not quite.

Voting in the UK is about voting for the party that has the best chance of a Conservative or AN Other in that particular seat. Its binary.

Well my question is still valid.
Who’s business is it other than his?

There are no such thing as illegitimate children.
Very unfortunate term.

There are now three choices to consider!

What about an illegitimate dick? That’s the problem, not the kids.

Are you married?

It is irrelevant.

The problem is that ‘a bit of help’ with finances has the capacity to be returned as a little favour back in the opposite direction. Like how, in this case, the person who fixed Johnson’s loan - a person who had previously campaigned to abolish the Licence Fee and privatise the BBC - coincidentally found himself in the position of Chair of the BBC

We cannot have Prime Ministers owing favours all over the place.

I’ll happily give you the answer if you tell me why it’s in any way relevant.

Are your children illegitimate then? My grandchildren apparently are.

When you are the Prime Minister, it’s the public’s business.

You used the term illegitimate child as another stick to beat Johnson with

I disagree

Since when?

What if he took out the loan to buy a nice piece of jewellery for his significant other? Why are you assuming he’s guilty as fuck of anything you feel you can convict him of?
Isn’t that one of those toxic isms?

Shooting 38 puppies yesterday doesn’t mean I shot one today.

Boris Johnson really does have a fucking hex on you, doesn’t he? You tug that forelock and defer to your betters.

I apologise for using the term illegitimate, but it’s hardly the point. If someone can point me towards an alternative word for a child born as a result of an affair, I’ll happily use that instead.

I have two children with my partner of 22 years. I don’t have several other children squirrelled away in London Flats, some of whom I refuse to acknowledge exist, the product of a number of sordid affairs throughout his life.

And the reason Boris Johnson’s personal finances are a matter for public scrutiny is precisely because they leave him prone to the kind of scrabbling found for favours like this one. Is his personal life a matter for the public? I’d normally not be arsed, but Johnson had a proclivity for his sexual incontinence spilling into the public arena. His obligations to the mother’s of his many children left him in the position of getting himself embroiled in scandals like the BBC chairmanship issue. And let’s not forget that at the start of the Pandemic, when leadership was desperately needed, Johnson missed a number of emergency meetings while he tried to patch up his relationship following yet another affair.

These thing are clearly a matter of public interest, because they impacted on his behaviour as Prime Minister.

Because he went to chairman of the BBC to secure that loan.

That raises doubts or at the very least why that chairman was appointed by Johnson into that role. No one is asking Johnson what the money was used for. What they are asking is why he went to the BBC chairman and why did he appoint him into that role? Are the two linked?

Bastard? Or why not just …child or even child born as a result of an affair if you must. You don’t need to stigmatise them by using a pejorative adjective. That’s just petty.
