Not my choice as captain, but I expect vvd to chase every ball and not walk as if he can’t be arsed at times like he has done in the past.

I’m happy with the choice, it’s the most logical one imo, and pleased that Trent is getting some proper leadership experience for the next couple of years when he’ll be ready to take the armband full-time.
Interested to know though if they were squad choices or Klopp’s choices, don’t suppose that’s been said anywhere?

Impossible to make a judgement from the outside, you need to be on the pitch, in the locker room to really know about team dynamics, character, leadership.
Do hope it provides a bit of an extra kick in the butt for VvD though.

Klopp alluded in the press conference last week they’d be his picks and wanted to share with the rest of the players before addressing the media.
Given that there are now absolutely no reasons to make nonsense arguments about how Fabinho’s flaws were the fault of everyone and everything except for Fabinho then maybe its time to reassess the “van Dijk walking” trope (given that its the same style he used when he was undoubtedly the best defender in the world) and say that maybe if the DM wasn’t absolutely fucking shite then van Dijk would have looked way better.

Fantastic. No more excuses for the new captain then, he’ll undoubtedly be world class again. 
2 more years for Van Dijk before we need to look at him being dropped.
Even if he’s degraded , he’s still in the top 3 PL defenders.
The squad pretty much expected it.
Van Dijk was the captain on field when hendo and Milly were in the bench.
Trent has always been earmarked for a leadership role ever since he proved he was amongst the best RBs in the world. That and the fact that he’s a scouser.
I’ll expect this present status quo to carry on for another time until VVD, Mo leave. Robbo won’t be going anytime anywhere unless he’s pushed out. Allisson has a long term contract in place.
2 years down the line , we’ll see other 2nd and third captains.
