Elliot’s too young to be a guaranteed starter. He’ll be too naturally inconsistent at his age, and the injury won’t help. He’s good enough to get a lot of minutes, but I don’t think it’s realistic for him to be playing every week.
Foden is probably the most talented English player since Rooney and he took a couple years longer to establish himself as a regular at City. That’s probably a similar sort of trajectory we can hope for.
