You think he would improve working under the footballing genius that is OGS?

Why would you spread such lies?

He is their greatest manager of all time, and as such should be granted the role of manager for life

PSG were supposedly after him before Euros. I expect they will sign him once France finish their campaign.

With Fabinho we have a DM ‘specialist’ - one of the best in the world and he is at a perfect age to do that for the next few years.

Some of our other senior players can also play that position but not really as specialists and tbh Milner, Thiago and Hendo are a bit older.

Would be great to have an academy player close to first team to be second choice defensive midfielder from next summer on.

If we have someone it would be great if he is physically strong and at least Hendo size 1,83m.

@Sweeting do we have a kid who could do that?

Left field suggestion maybe but if we do go into the season without any new CMs and plenty of CBs I wouldn’t mind Gomez getting some run outs there.

No. We have players who are physically well built for the PL but they’re not defensively minded (Balagizi, Mabaya).

The only true DM in the youth set up - and isn’t miles away from playing for the first team - is Clarkson and he’s a very different type of player.

I see Clarkson as a lesser version of Billy Gilmour.

Or Brannagan…

Smaller lads can play the DM role to perfection. Think Tardelli, Gattuso, Deschamps, Makelele, Kanté. All players under 180cm. The key attributes are a certain amount of agressivity, coupled with an outstanding ability to read the game and to make an impact on it. Height can be handy, but isn’t a prerequisite to become a great DM.

Liked Klopps response to James Pearce in the press conference. Doesn’t sound like he is interested in signing a new midfielder.

This one? Fully agree also!

Yes. Last question was from Pearce.

Didn’t like Pearce’s response back, he shit his pants.

“Fans would say we need someone with more goals”. Oh dear. He started the question initially with Gini always being fit and working hard, should’ve stated that once more.

And Klopp with “more goals than Gini?”. The reason you converted him back to more of a deeper/hard working midfielder is because his offensive play isn’t for this level.

Anyway, yeah, I felt between the lines that Klopp is happy with our CM options. Putting hopes into Hendo that he plays his season at RCM, Thiago at LCM, gets more out of the likes of Keita/Ox/Elliott, Milner as an ever present safe option.

Ideally, we would sign 2 more players. I think it will be 1 now and it will be an offensive player, who is direct. When we offload the likes of Shaq and whoever else of the little group that we are listening to offers.
