If this is a lesson learned from Real, then maybe Thuram can expect to be kept on the bench for most of next season while Hendo and Fab continue to play every game, before eventually getting games at RB the second half of the 24-25 season
Had they landed Mbappe, they may not have got round to signing Tchoumeni, and had we landed CL football this season they may not have got Bellingham either.
Bellingham is going to end up at right back isnāt he? 
But they did! That is the point.
On the other hand, look at our timing and process for evolving our MF and the last time we invested in this areaā¦

We were rumoured to be interested in Camavinga before he went to Real, we put in a bid for Tchouameni last summer before we bought Nunez and weāve been trying to sign Bellingham for this summer.
Weāre not going to be able to sign every target, but the fact is we literally tried to build the same midfield over the same time period.
Could we have bid an extortionate amount to get them? Sure. But thatās how you end up being Man U and having to pay Ā£80m for average players.

And its the wrong point. You are labelling it as an example of great planning, but its results orientated thinking.
We went for the same two players at the same time - so we already have the timing down. The fact the players went there rather than here is partly fortune - as i said, if they got Mbappe, they may not have had the funds for Tchouimani (and maybe even Bellingham).
Its a sliding doors moment - we could have been sitting here with both of them.
And had Madrid landed Mbappe, maybe they would have too.

We didnāt, because in case you didnāt notice, we also had an aging front line who were all entering their 30s at the same time. Yet somehow weāre going into this season with Gakpo, Diaz and Nunez in the squad.
Almost as if weāve continued to evolve the team, but couldnāt do everything all at once.

Gakpo came in a different window, so it wasnāt an attempt to do everything at once.

Not really. Camavinga went to Madrid in the same year we said hello to Curtis Jones and Thiago. The following year we said goodbye to Gini and hello to Harvey. Last season we welcomed Stefan into the side.
Bellingham has signed the same window that we have brought in MacAllister and at least one other will join.
Your posts are ignoring the fact that Real Madrid have more pulling power than us. They are above us in the pecking order, thatās the simple and inconvenient truth.
That means that whenever we 'll be in the same market than them for a player, theyāll have a much better chance than us to get him. More money, a better perspective for winning big trophies, bigger city, better weather, more glitz and media glory.
From there, as we miss out, weāll turn ourselves towards players just below that top level: but thatās where the availability comes into play. Had we taken 35m into our hands last summer and quickly bought a player, would the right player for us have been available?

Itās no guarantee that all of (Camavinga / Valverde / Tchouameni/ Bellingham) will stay for a long time. At this point , given Real and their propensity for going after the new shiny toy , Iād pick one of the first three to be leaving the next season , whether it will still be someone that we would be interested in , remains to be seen

Didnāt Real Madid basically roll the same side for about five years without buying anyone?
It was one of the things that Klopp commented on around the time we lost the first CL final to them.

Look at their team then. Casemiro , Modric and Kroos in center midfield. They didnāt need to buy players then , they need to buy players and figure out which players make them click now
