If you are a frequent visitor to care homes and similar settings, it makes good sense as a means to protect that population. My wife is likely to get one in March or April Phase 2, because she is classified as an essential caregiver to visit her mother. It will be a bit odd with her immune for 4-5 months, and not us.

Compared with the UK, we are a bit better off, but not that much to be fair. While we handled the first wave with relative ease and making the right things, the authorities have made a complete hash of the second wave. We had a huge spike in December, which has now gone back a bit.
But our enlightened politicians have decided to force us back to a form of semi-confinement, preventively. They are currently shitting themselves because of that new ‘British’ variant. But I can’t imagine that these viruses will find it very attractive here: the pubs are closed.

I’m not sure how much the vaccine prevents you from contracting and spreading the virus yet. I don’t think there is definitive data on that yet (though i could be mistaken). I would only guess that immunity would prevent the virus from proliferating in the host therefore reducing the ability to cross infect.
There is not much data. It simply wasn’t tested for in the trials. However, there is considerable optimism that an immunized person will have very low viral load even when exposed. Even if there is no absolute guarantee, there is likely to be a significant shift in the percentages.

Had it in the first wave, it only penetrated my nasal cavity, and am only just recovering a sense of smell. It IS the strangest thing I ever had, and this is nothing to go by, but behaved wholly different from any other organic viral infection I have had. Simply in the bouts, it did not plot a normal distribution, and came and went, and spiked, it also produced insomnia, a distinct feeling of something like what I guess is autoimmune toxicity, where the IS is fighting so much it raises the nervous system so you could not sleep. As well as the weirdest other worldly smell, so I truly hope to never see it again.

Right, myself, mother and father had it, from their business partner, who contracted it at the gym in the first wave, early March. He had it full on in the lungs and couldnt breathe, was nearly admitted to hospital. For a further 3-4 months he couldnt walk his dog or get up the stairs for being out of breath.
Dad was knocked out with it, I mean sleeping all the time and feeling off.
Mum and I had it in the nasal cavity. We could neither taste or smell anything properly, and I kid you not, there was this distinct ‘burned plastic buttery sweetish’ smell to it - I dont know if that was damage to the sense of smell, but Mum reported a similar smell. That has gradually gone (taken 9 months but is still around), but there has always been a fading note of it. Id say smell and taste is 90% recovered in me, but now and again this faint smell comes back. Its like nothing I have ever smelled before; its quite disgusting.
To be quite honest it has made me conclude it is nothing like any other virus; I actually (no surprise here) think it was a mistaken leak of a bio-weapon. Not intentional, but still, an unnatural virus that was grown on a petri dish and has got out somehow.
Additionally to support this, a natural virus has a broadly same normal distribution curve from infection to overcoming it. This didnt have that at all, some days you were fine and then others really fatigued with an inexplicable insomnia; very stubbornly blocked sinus etc. There, thats all I know and feel. No surprise then there actually is a bio-weapons facility in Wuhan China.

If I were the head of that bio-weapons plant, and my staff created a weaponised virus that kills less than 1%, and only mild flu symptoms in the vast majority, I’d be pretty pissed off at them.

I know I think this too, but it could conceivably be ‘in development’ despite all major states having signed up to a non-proliferation treaty. I dont, but for the sake of this point, do wish there were others on here that could speak of the experience, because its well strange.
And, we dont know how many its going to kill yet, and or, whether it takes out any particular demographic.
There were comments about emails warning of breaches at that Wuhan lab at the outbreak, but this all seems to have gone quiet.

I’d be really pissed that they managed to invent a virus that couldn’t kill a fat, unfit, orange coloured, burger munching fuckwit that happened to be leading the nation who’s economy I was trying to surpass.
Gees I’d even be pissed if i were Mother Nature and couldn’t manage it.

I`m not saying thats what thy set out to do,but looking at their figures for infection and deaths 
Then look at how ill prepared and how badly many governments have handled the crisis

I honestly think we’ll ever truly know despite what the security services do. I mean, if it came out the wrong way, what would the public cry out for?
Strange that when the Salisbury poisonings went down, Porton Down were all over Novichok, but no analysis either way from them on this occasion. Whereas they simply must have looked at it for nothing else but to at least rule out the possibilities; but still no reassurance. You would think there would have been for all the completely bonkers shite that was put out by Icke and London Live at the outbreak.
