The Corona Pandemic

Earlier on, those with serious allergies and below certain age groups, they were not advised to take Pfizer, its only recently that studies have shown to be ok and we have now released to more groups of people but some people still do not want to take the risk.

For those with certain allergies, AstraZeneca was initially being recommended in preference.

I quickly looked into this a few weeks back when Twickenham did the first test weekend in London, but whilst not confirmed it seemed like it was only for 1st jabs. This might be different in different areas based on how the roll out has been run locally.

I believe Germany has now administered more doses than the UK :+1:

We went along at about 5pm, and were driving home having had our send jabs 20 mins later.

Really recommend looking into whether anywhere is doing walk in near you.

Did you confirm before turning up or chance your luck?

It was a walk in, so you couldn’t confirm. We just thought we’d go along and see if they had space.

After the jab, we had to wait fifteen minutes before driving, so I sat in the car and cancelled my July appointment.

After 2 days, feeling a bit better. Still have a mild headache, mild chill and sweats. Yesterday was a rough ride. Massive headache, fever, joint and muscle pain, chills, high heartrate. Pretty much you name the symptoms, I’ve got them.

Have you got vaccinated? Hope you get better soon. :palms_up_together:

Get well soon! Sounds not good.

Really? Still only 55/35% vaccinated. Larger population of course.

I was actually slightly wrong. It’s now done more first doses but still a few million behind on total doses.

Is that the vaccine or actual covid. Whatever it is, hope you’re feeling back up to full speed soon.

2nd dose of Moderna (first dose Pfizer).

I hadn’t heard of mixing the mRNA vaccines. Is that normal in Canada?

Hopefully not too much more then.

Yes, it has been approved for mixing mRNA doses in Canada. (Probably driven mainly because of supply shortage!)

Important statement at the end of the article:

To be a heightened threat, the researchers say, a SARS-CoV-2 variant would need to do three things: spread more easily, evade the immune system in vaccinated people or those previously exposed to COVID-19, and cause more severe disease. Fortunately, the Alpha and Beta variants do not meet all these criteria.

“Our data suggest that the most problematic combination of such mutations is not yet present in the existing variants examined here,” the researchers write.

Was really looking forward to the update though, so far I’m somewhat disappointed with the magnetic superpowers I was promised.
