Good question. Given the ancient and massively complexed nature and documentation of the game, I’d imagine there’s actually something about it in the rules.
There’s got to be a good possibility that South Africa and England agree to declare both their first innings and play as if it’s a 3-day one innings per side test match.
Be nice if they extended it. Start Sunday like the racing is doing with an extended St Leger card.
Some may disagree with football but they’ve made a decision at the earliest point, same goes for horse racing.
Rugby, Golf and Cricket are waiting for not sure what? Government have made it clear for this weekend. But the fans need to be considered. Golf will probably have to go to 54 holes (LIV guys will love that).
For the best, batting lineup was weakened by Bairstow somehow breaking his leg while playing golf. You’d think someone who’s in the form of his life would be a bit more circumspect. Oh well.
Hopefully Ollie Robinson has had that lightbulb moment and manages to keep himself fit from now on because he’s an incredibly good bowler who has the potential and skill set to succeed anywhere in the world. Bowling with a bit of extra pace since his return to the team as well.
Both of the openers are crap and need replacing. Crawley should bin off the long form of the game entirely, his first class record is awful as well. Beggars belief that they keep persisting with somebody who clearly has neither the technical nor mental attributes to succeed at this level. Lees is basically a worse version of what Burns and Sibley were before.
